I am a Brewer fan...am I delusional in trying to trade for him - either in overestimating his value vs. Berkman's or in trying to make this deal while Berkman is slow and Fielder on fire?

You can get more value than Prince if you want to trade Berkman.

I was going to ask for something else, but I wear the fact that I am a Brewer fan on my sleeve - he knows I really want him. It is only a $100 buy in league...not a big deal, I'd rather root for Prince every night than Berkman.

But....you guys confirmed my notion that I probably am not asking for enough.

Made the deal....takes effect with this week's games....lost a lot of production the last few days...I am confident he'll keep it up.

Well that is ridiculous - Fielder/Bay for Berkman/and one of the only truely Offensive Catchers in the game. Try it for Berkman and an OF and the deal gets done.

Got it last night, getting Berkman straight up for Fielder. I'd offered it straight up a couple times and he said no. I was very shocked to see HIS offer. I did hesitate a second before hitting 'accept'. But then I reminded myself of Berkman's track record, and especially of the 45 HR last year WITHOUT Carlos Lee hitting behind him.Now, it's time for Twinkie Berkman to start hitting!!

I have yet to get away with any egregious thefts -

the closest I have come is

Chipper Jones and Rickie Weeks (right before both got hurt - I got lucky)

for

Grady Sizemore and Todd Helton

It is not as bad as it looks - he was desperate for a 3B and a 2B and I already had Miggy at 3B with Jones as a UT, so I just swapped Helton and Jones at UT and upgraded my OF with Sizemore. Now my 2B sucks, but it would have sucked anyway with Weeks getting hurt.

Made the deal....takes effect with this week's games....lost a lot of production the last few days...I am confident he'll keep it up.

DING DING DINGFielder is hitting .290 since I got him with 17 runs, 11 HR and 20 RBIin the same time (1 month)Berkman is hitting .195 with 13 runs, 4 HR and 17 RBI. Remarkably his runs and RBI's are not that far off, but he has completely lost his power stroke this year - in the last month his slg. percentage is .337 vs. Fielder's .700.Great trade for me thus far.
