Locks - Manning and Woodson

Will be in soon - Calvin, Holt, Boselli, Faneca, Waters, Z Thomas, Lynch

Should make it at some point - Hines, E Williams,  J Allen, Seymour, B Young, Swilling, Harrison, D Woodson

Someone I think should be in but probably never will - Tasker

There are a few others that are border line and were either great for short period or are just the hall of really good. A couple were really good but absolutely benefited from playing with players that were ultra elite first ballot HOFers.

Yes

Jeff Garcia
Underrated, but no.

Peyton Manning
obvious no-brainer yes.

Donovan McNabb
if he hadn’t broken his leg that year...if he’d won that SB...he’d still be a no. But talent-wise I love the dude.

Steve McNair
he was so good. And his life ended so tragically. But he’s probably a no.

Running Backs

Shaun Alexander
yes

also this is a heck of a RB class.

Mike Alstott (FB)
As good as he was, a FB who can’t block doesn’t deserve to be in the HOF.

Tiki Barber
Don’t love the dude but he’s close.

Earnest Byner

Larry Center

Corey Dillon
Man - just the stuff FF dreams are made of.

Warrick Dunn
maybe. He was so good but seemingly always in a timeshare. I have to go look deeper.

Eddie George
yes.

Priest Holmes
man - how do you keep him out? Neck Injury Shortened his career. For me he’s a yes.

Steven Jackson

Jamal Lewis
talent & talent, but lacked longevity.

Eric Metcalf (also WR/KR/PR)
I tend to think of Metcalf as a receiver.

Lorenzo Neal (FB)
Just look at the RBs he blocked for. Put Lo in the HOF. I’m in on that one 100%.

Herschel Walker (also KR)

Ricky Waters
god this class is deep. Imma have to look at the RB numbers to make quality responses. This is all knee-jerk. Honestly having a hard time saying yes or no based on the depth here.

Torry Holt
HOF

Calvin Johnson
ugh. Maybe? Certainly had the talent. Tough call.

Chad Johnson
no-cho cinco

Derrick Mason
such a good player. Probably not HOF.

like RB, this list is really challenging.

Muhsin Muhammad

won me my first championship, but probably no.

Jimmy L. Smith
perpetually underrated. But probably no.

Rod D. Smith

Hines Ward
These guys were both so good. I need to look at the numbers.

Reggie Wayne
put Reggie in the hall.

Wes Welker
tough call - another dude I need to look at the #s on.

Roddy White
as much as I like him, no.

Tight Ends

Dallas Clark

Ben Coates

Keith J. Jackson

Brent Jones
homer alert: yes.

Jeremy Shockey
If he’d been able to stay healthy he’d probably have put a HOF career together.

Matt Birk (C)
OL is so hard. maybe

Tony Boselli (T)
Probably.

Alan Faneca (G)
probably.

Jeff Saturday (C)
yes

John Abraham (DE also LB)
Yes

Jared Allen (DE)
Maybe - it’s close.

Simeon Rice (DE)
beast.

Richard Seymour (DT)

Justin Smith (DE)
man, these guys were so good.

Justin Tuck (DE)
Really good but wasn’t he hurt a lot?

Bryant Young (DT)
another homer alert but put Young in the hall.

London Fletcher

Seth Joyner

Clay Matthews Jr.

Jerod Mayo

Willie McGinest (also DE)

Sam Mills

Joey Porter

Chris Spielman

Takeo Spikes

Pat Swilling (also DE)

Darryl Talley

Zach Thomas

Patrick Willis

Defensive Backs

Eric Allen (CB)

Ronde Barber (CB/S)

LeRoy Butler (S)

Nick Collins (S)

Merton Hanks (S)

Rodney Harrison (S)

James Hasty (DB)

Albert Lewis (CB)

John Lynch (S)

Tim McDonald (S)

Allen Rossum (DB)

Asante Samuel (DB)

Bob Sanders (S)

Charles Tillman (CB)

Troy Vincent (CB)

Adrian Wilson (S)

Charles Woodson (CB/S)

Darren Woodson (S)
there are so many on this list I want to say yes to - again, knee-jerk is hard because so many were big name players who had trouble staying on the field or had short-ish careers. I’d have to really dive into the numbers.

overall this is a hell of a list. There were a few I didn’t comment on in the WR & Defense that might also be in the convo, but honestly just don’t have time to research this. So much talent though. Makes me nostalgic.

Agree with all of this. Locks Manning & Woodson for sure. Boselli & Holt next. Young & Zach.

So many others who’s careers were shortened or they had trouble staying on the field.
