Projection Vs. Matchup Question (1 Viewer)

How is is that two QBs in either a GREAT or GOOD passing matchup (Flacco and Hoyer) are in the bottom 25% of projections this week, with Hoyer being last?

Is it that the possibility is there, but they are projected not to take advantage of it?

I know it says "This does NOT replace the Cheatsheet ranking. The Cheatsheet rankings are the final say on where we see a player for that week. The Matchup Breakdowns are simply one more tool in the box when it comes to helping choose your lineup."

Just trying to wrap my head around the thinking...

Having a great matchup means the player can be expected to perform notably better than his typical baseline performance.

Flacco having a good day is still not really a top-12 QB. Hoyer on a good day is not bottom-5.

I'd say there's no inconsistency here at all.

Gotcha.

BTW: you mean Hoyer on a good day *IS* Bottom 5, right? :)
Nah...I think Hoyer could crack QB26 on a good day. He was QB23 in week 1 of last year, for instance.

For that matter, and quite shockingly, he was QB*4* in week 5 of 2014. (#s from a 6pt/passTD league)
