Props out to Mad Cow (1 Viewer)

I already have a pair of the Hawaii's by Maui Jim and they are excellent. What would the ones without any hinges (the titanium ones) in a rose lense cost? I just bought a pair off of ebay for a graduation present. That made me want to get a pair for myself.
The standard FBG discount is $190, shipped. Whichever of the 3 styles you want.

Do you have Armani Sunglasses? I am actually looking for the style that you saw Russel Crowe wear when he got arrested. I was pissed because since that incident, they have been sold out across NYC. I forgot the specific model.

Yes, I deal with that company as well. All I need is the model, but let me see if I can dig it up with the company. The 134/S, retail at $210, I could do $170 plus shipping. Just need the color. Comes in gray lens, brown lens and shiny violet (NTTAWTT).
LOLWould like the gray lens but can you beat this price?

http://www.zbestglasses.com/advanced_searc...71c6a&x=12&y=11
Yeah, I could probably do $145 plus whatever shipping. Maybe not beat it, but can match it.
Is that your lowest price though? I ask because I did a quick google search and found that site but probably can find it cheaper. Let me know. Thanks!
Come on man, he doing us a service here and you're trying to talk him down? He says he'll match it and you want more? Get real. Love folks like you.
Guess you failed to read my follow up post. Geez, love folks like you. :hophead:

Did it look like the frame went all of the way around the lens, or that the lenses were rimless?
Not rimless.
Weel, that describes about 40 different styles that MJ makes. Can you remember anything else? Black, plastic, full-rimmed frame. . . Begins with an H, maybe. . . Check out:

Hoku, but also Ho'okipa. The later is rimless looking in a way, but way cool, as well. As for their poly sports, the best ones for guys are the Sunset, Ho'okipa, Sandy Beach and Kanaha.
I was thinking it might be the Hoku. I'm not a big fan of the rimless look. Might change my mind if I were to try on a pair.Thoughts on Waimeia Bay?
Not a fan of Waimeia Bay. I had a pair sit in my office for over 2 years and finally exchanged it. Try on the Ho'okipa or one of the other ones - they are not true rimless glasses, but fit like a glove.

What didn't you like about it? Looks like a standard pair of sunglasses online.

For those of you reluctant to try the rose MJ lenses (such as Joe Bryant who I am convinced does not like them due to his insecurities in his masculinity ;) - don't ban me, Joe), they are the best lens I have ever seen, and please keep in mind that this is my industry. They do not look rose - they just look like sunglass lenses, but they just feel "Aaaahhhh!" with your eyes, if you know what I mean.
Do you like them more than the Armani GA134s?

Armani are for the name and "high cutting edge fashion". MJ's are for utility and cool looks.

They are pretty big. If you have a big noggin, then you would be alright, but I would definitely recommend you hit a mall and try those on before buying them.

Dear Mad Cow:I wear glasses for reading but don't need correction for distance. My regular glasses are bifocal with virtually no up-top correction and my reading prescription for below. I have Silouette titanium rimless frames (which I love) and clip on sunglasses, which are pretty good for reading or the like. I normally wear cheap sunglasses for driving or playing golf or yard work, but if I have to read something I have to take them off and put on the reading glasses.Would a bifocal Maui Jim in the same titanium rimless style set me back an arm and a leg or should I stick with the clipons and cheap sunglasses? Curious in DC

Let me make a quick call. . . I am thinking they do not Rx the MJ Titanium sports in lined bifocal. While I am on hold, however, Golf Digest awarded the MJ Titanium Sport line as the Top Sunglass for golf.

OK, here we go:

The titanium sports they can do in single vision or progressive lens (no-line bifocal) - no lined version is made. The regular pricing for the Rx program on those is $469 for SV and $589 for the progressive. Any FBG wanting to take advantage of that I would give 25% off, which is pretty good since they very actively control those prices.

Thanks, Mad Cow. I'll let you know.
If I were you, I would just get the non-Rx form and deal with it. They don't do the progressive in the rose lens, which IMHO is their best color.

Good information here. That will "color" my decision. If I did that, I might go the poly Sports route rather than the TI. They do those in rose, right?

Yes, they do both titanium and poly sports in rose, but the Rx rose is only available in single vision glass. Kinda dumb, but there you are. So yes, you can get non-Rx rose in both the titanium and poly sports.

roughly $352 for SV is a very nice deal  extremely tempting

Mad Cow hooked me up with some very cool Titanium Maui Jim's.  They are sweet, extremely comfortable, and I have noticed more MILF's checking me out when I wear them.

I just got a pair for the wife from him also, and she is rather pleased, which in turn "pleases" me.  It is all good when Mad Cow helps you out.
Link?I was talking to MC about a pair but never pulled the trigger. Still looking.
mauijim.com - check out the titanium sport line. My current FBG deal on those is $190, which includes USPS shipping. Retail is $249, so that is a pretty sweet deal, and I think you would be seriously challenged to find a better sunglass on the market, period.
Thanks. I'm just notoriously bad with sunglasses. I always lose or break them. Having a hard time pulling the trigger on a $200 pair given my history.
Then might I suggest the MJ Poly Sport line - the retail is $150 on those - I could do it for about $120.
This is exactly the ones MC turned me onto. I bought them earlier this year with winnings from a FFL. They are VERY nice.

That was a nice way for me to earn some of my losings back. :wall:

MadCow, do you carry Diesel? I saw a sweet-looking pair at the Hut a few weeks ago...I'll definitely be PMing you in the near future, my fiancee only wears Maui Jims and sh'e about due for a new pair.

I have the Ho'okipa's (Poly Sport) and they're great.A suggestion for any/all of those who are thinking of doing this - go to any local place that carries them and "test drive" them. I checked various things out like the lens color (just didn't care for how everything looked with the rose lenses), the fit, the look, etc. It can help you with everything and THEN you buy from MC.

Definitely the way to go.

I guess my best testamonial is I'd buy from him again AND I'd get the same pair.

I do not carry them actively, but I do work with the company that distributes them, so if I had the model and color, I could give you a price and get it. I am doing the same for Armani boy right now.

Stop it man, you're making me

  to Mad Cow. I received my Maui Jim Titanium Sport sunglasses the other day. They were packaged great and he met my tight timing needs with fast processing. Very smooth transaction and a great deal from a great seller!

I have not heard from him after a couple of emails, so these sunglasses can be had for a super deal if someone is interested. Any Brad Pitt envy in the house?

You mean the part where he matches your internet search, and gets them only to be stiffed by you? Yea, whatta tool.

i just placed my order,,,,apparently my tastes are so exclusive i have to wait for them to be imported from ITALY... fancy me..Thanks Mad Cow...

Bump since there is a renewed interest in the sunglasses. For an update, I sold those sunglasses that the freaker CleartheCream ordered at a loss on eBay. :hot: :sadbanana:

:blackdot: I'll be coming to you with an order in the next few months MC. Need to do a little shopping and trying on first. Also, I saw my local Costco now has some MJs... I think they had some for around $130 (don't remember the exact style).

The Costco MJ's are ALL discontinueds. I cannot deal in those. MJ has an agreement with Costco that they get discontinueds, but they cannot sell current stuff. Thus, you can get some there, but none of the latest, coolest stuff.

I'll be here. Unless I die and stuff.

Mad Cow hooked me up with some MJ Titanium Sports -- really nice glasses. Outstanding glare reduction for relatively light lenses.Order with confidence 'cause he's the man.

Too bad about survivor. :bye:

I just received my MJs (Kanaha with Bronze lens) from Mad Cow and they are sweet. Optically they blow my Oakleys out of the water, they are super light and stay in place. I highly recommend MJs and Mad Cow for both his service and price. I don't think you can beat his price and for a few dollars his service makes up for it. Thanks for helping out your fellow FBGs!

Do you have any chanel galsses?
I can prolly get a hold of them - just would have to place a special order through the rep. I deal with the company that does them, just not that line. Give me a style, size and color and I can find out if possible.
