Props out to Mad Cow (1 Viewer)

Mad Cow,

Oldest boy is a baseball player (14YO) and has been using his Oakley half jackets (white with grey lenses) for the past couple of years. He has decided that he wants to get a new pair. Do you recommend Oakley's? He is looking at the Pro M-Frame.

If not Oakley, what brand would you recommend? Under Armour? Nike?

We live in Texas and play in mostly clear skies. What color lens' would you recommend? If he wants to splurge for a couple of colors, which would offer the most beneficial contrasts?

Thanks if advance and if you have or can get what we need, let us know.

I don't carry Oakley, so that is tough to say. We do great with Maui Jim and Smith, even Costa del Mar and all have great sport options. If you want a couple of colors, Smith carries a few styles with interchangeable lens systems, where you get 3 lenses in a set to work well. That might be your best bet.

Which model for each?
Coach Trisha in Red. I couldn't find the Fendi's since the ones I was thinking about was from 2 years ago. :kicksrock:
Is it possible you mean Tasha? I am not seeing a current Coach model named Trisha. Could be discontinued.
Nope, it's new and still on the Coach site. style:S8026If you can't get it, no worries. I will just wait for a sale or not buy it at all, which my husband and wallet will both be thankful for I am sure.

Hmm, not sure if I can get that. I could call and check, though.

Nah it's ok. I'm sure I will get a 25% off coupon sooner or later. I'll let you know if I find anything else I like. Thanks for looking!

Just got a sweet pair of Maui Jim's from the Mad Cow. Great price and exceptionally fast delivery. Very nice.

Went on vacation and needed a pair of Maui Jim's fast.

MC delivered quickly and was a great guy to buy from, would recommend for sure.

Thanks MC

I am really working on boosting my Google online rating. If there are any FBG's that have been happy with their service and wouldn't mind giving me a decent review/rating on Google, I would really appreciate it. PM me for details. I am working on an offer for any FBG that does it for me, so stay tuned. Thanks.

Bump for MC. Took about 20 seconds of my time to say thanks for the great sunglasses that I'm still wearing some 5 or so years later!

Got my 2nd pair of Costa's via Mad Cow and I couldn't be happier, one pair for me and one for the old man. Will be looking for some regular sunglasses soon.

Thanks again!

Need a new pair as my son scratched the hell out of my oakleys.

So I should find out what I want, get the model, then come see you for price comparison?

I'm on a tight budget, any brand you would recommend?

OK, so I am now officially a Rudy Project dealer, as well. They are fantastic for suns for biking, running and shooting. They are not the strongest in fashion, but their athletic line is great and they also have great warranties. They have a pretty nice deal going right now where if you buy a pair of sunglasses, they will give you a free fashion sunglass, bike helmet or other accessory from a list. Not bad considering you get a $170+ sunglass then can choose a free $125 biking helmet, for instance.

Anyway, just a PSA.

I'm sorry I did not see this. What kind of budget did you have and what style did you have before?

MC,

I've got a pair of Oakley Splinters (brown polarized) that are scratched (right lense if looking at them). Do you have replacement lenses?

Nope. I am not an Oakley dealer. I have looked into it, but the local Oakley reps never called back, so I am thinking they are not that reliable when an office is calling you saying here come take my money.

Hey Mad Cow...I tried sending you a PM, but it said your folder was full...so I guess business is good?

Anyways, I bought some Titanium Maui Jims a few years ago from you. I've been very happy with them, even got them repaired by Maui Jim once, but now I'm looking for a replacement. Can you send me some ideas about what you have that would fit my huge Charlie Brown head? Something lightweight like the Titanuims would be ideal...don't know if I could go with much heavier now that I've grown accustomed to them. Links would be helpful.

Thanks! Lee

Surprisingly, I still have my Raybans you hooked me up with. Any deals on women's stuff for valentines day

Just wanted to put in a thanks here to MC for his help getting me a great pair of prescription sunglasses and an extra set of lenses for it. Saved me a decent amount of coin on some high end frames/lenses and was absolutely fantastic at communicating throughout the entire process.

If anyone is looking for help with eyewear, I would not hesitate to recommend getting in touch with Mad Cow.

Thank you again, fine sir.

What type of price do you get Paul Smith spectacles for? Rayban Wayfarers? Used to paying about 50-70% off retail via Gilt.

Glad those Rudy's are working :hifive:

I don't deal with either of those.

My recent purchase of Maui Jims also worked out nicely...more props to Mad Cow  ... I forgot to update from last month.

If anyone is interested, Rudy Project has a new deal aside from their Buy-1-Get-1. They are just now shipping their XX2i packages, which are kits that contain 2 frames in 2 colors (same style, just different color, there are 2 styles available) and 5 lenses. The MSRP on these is $150, but I will give any FBG's interested in larger than normal discount if interested. 1/3 off. Just PM me if interested.

Just an FYI.

MC, do you have anything in your portfolio that looks similar to Oakley's Radar?

Interested in that style of frame.

TIA
Look at Rudy Project. Their entire line is similar in styling to that. Their Rydon is their most popular, but there are a ton, and their lens options are fantastic. They offer warranties on their suns that other companies do not as well - long time on the frame, but also against scratches on the lenses, which is unheard of. They also have a buy-1-get-1 promo right now. Buy a sun and then get for free one of a fashion sunglass, additional lens set for the original sun, biking top or biking helmet. There might be more but I cannot remember off the top of my head.

Just let me know what to do. I have no idea what a google rating is but I loved all five of the pairs I bought over the years. I may be due for a new one soon. Also I can't find my favorite pair I got a while back. I think they were Ray Ban Aviators. Can you get them still? Great for big heads.

Thanks. I can PM you the info if you would want. I cannot do Ray-Ban, but there are tons of great aviators in Maui Jim and Smith. Wiki Wiki from Maui Jim is particularly awesome.
