Just wanted to say "Thanks for the hard work".

I've either got the best record or more points scored in all 3 of my leagues due to the many informative articles, weekly updates, breaking news links, ratings, etc.

Y'all do a great job and I'm sure the amount of money you're receiving doesn't justify the amount of work you do.

Thanks for your dedication to my hobby.

Great job, I was part of another pay site for a few years and I subscribed this year to both sites, I don't even use the other site any more.

Next season I will only use FBG.

PS

please be more Mac friendly.

I'm betting your screen name was altered, wasn't it?

I must be the only guy getting the same results as I had before subscribing. That said, I like their service, particularly the DD is helpful so I don't have to use a pencil during the draft.

Actually, no, I also get the same results I did before subscribing. I'm still one of if not the top team in my leagues each year, and win the championship around 40-50% of the time in each league. But I spend much less time and still get those same results, largely because of FBG.

Before the season, I read all the articles and use the Draft Dominator. The DD is the absolute best tool ever created for FF!!

After the season starts, I rely mostly on the Shark forum and stop reading all the cheatsheets and daily stuff, etc. The Shark forum is the best place for opinions and insider information, and thats where I get most of my info for waiver pickups.

I've been very successful in my fantasy endeavors because of FBGs! Thanks!

This is a probably the best FF site out there, but we pay for these services. Joe has thousands of subscribers coughing up $25 each. I'm glad they are successful. They put together a good product and do a good job. But I'd never suggest the amount of money taken in doesnt justify they amount of work done here.My understanding is that the staff here has made full time jobs out of this site. Many people do that for free for love of the hobby. For example, FFtoday is a free site with comparable information to Footballguys. They make good projections too, and I know I felt more comfortable with their WR rankings this week than I did with FBguys (for my recievers). Turns out they made a better call at that site this time around.

Again, more power to Joe for making money and running a good site. But I'm pretty sure he's making a lot of money here, and most of the information we're paying for is available for free.

It's obvious then that most of your leaguemates use FBG as well :hifive:

I'll subscribe again next year, simply for the FBG contest. I missed the cut last week, but had more fun with that than I did in one of my leagues. Oh yeah, the early info ain't bad either.

That's basically where I'm at. I like the DD but once the season starts I get most of my updates from the forum plus FF info such as injuries, etc is becoming common place from any sports news source. I used to like the cheat sheets and top 250 forward but have found them to not be very helpful. The Upgrades/Downgrades is nice but isn't groundbreaking info. I think the game summaries and target info are probably some of the best info out of the paid content. Matchup data is good and saves me the time of checking out defensive rankings. I guess I'm riding the fence on whether to subscribe again or not next year.

I love the site, been here for years, but that said, I have been screwed by rankings and predictions numerous times. I've talked to others in both my leagues who have used this site for years and love it, but can't remember a year where projections and rankings have been wayyy wrong.

I like the Weekly Lineup dominator, the draft dominator, The SP, Strength of Schedule, Targets weekly and yearly, Top 200 going forward. I like the MyFBG portion, I like Bob Henry's sleepers. I like Wimer's material. I like Chase Stuart's endless data. I like the podcasts and I like reading all the pre-season forecasts for hours on end!

I agree with the OP- take FBGs information, mix in a little personal bias/predictions, and you've got a recipe for championships in all your leagues.

I haven't made a single trade this year, picked up maybe 1-2 decent WW transactions, and am dominating all my leagues. The pre-draft information and DD kit is well worth the price of admission (once you factor in $$$ leagues, the cost/benefit is just a no brainer).

I like this line of thought but I cannot compare the two if only for the reason I have only been a subscriber to FFToday, not FBG. I used FFToday's draft buddy and compiler, and it was very good, and they are smaller so their head guys always respond and whatnot. However, if you have ever been into their chat rooms, it is a mess -- no order, help questions on the main board, its awful. Thus, next year I will be a FBG subscriber, because I imagine that this site offers similar content for the draft and whatnot, and from what I've heard, other weekly materials. In addtion, I NEVER go to the FFToday chat rooms, only the FBG, it has proven to be my most useful tool this year, mainly because of all of the people in here. Am I missing something? If someone has advice or anything else, feel free to PM me, I would like to get the scoop on this place. Also, thanks to FBG for all of this, its awesome. And congrats on making your hobby a friggin gold mine!

+1Enjoy the roundtable, the comprehensive passing and rushing matchup analysis, and the blog feature is also a nice feature. Keep 'em coming. I turn to you guys for detailed analysis and crunch time decisions. I have been very, very satisfied. All that being said, I am unable to use half of your tools (like Draft Dominator) because I don't use a PC. Help us New Agers out!

If you play in leagues with non FBG subscribers and or SP residents...you are usually ahead by a minimum of 12-24 hours over most of your league...that edge is priceless sometimes.

Football Guys rocks. I'm not ashamed to say I've been riding these guys since I picked up undrafted free agent 3rd string RB FWP in preseason in '05. I like looking like a genius for, what is it, $19 bucks a year?

My only complaint is I don't like Cecil Lammey's haircut on the 5 minute drill. WTF? Did he lose a bet?

No, I didn't subscribe this year because I thought the price was too high. So far, I'm doing better than the last two years. It's a wash. I sort of knew it would be.

Boy is this true. I love the email updates. If I can't capitalize on the info, I'll mention it to one of my leaguemates and they are just clueless. One of those fun little tidbits. And this is a great site. The IDP info is awesome.

Fantasy football is 90% luck so giving a site all the credit or the blame is foolish in my opinion. More than projections and rankings, I like the discussion that goes on here and that's what I pay for.

It's not like its free.

It has some good things, some weak things, honestly, next year I may simply visit the Shark Pool and not pay for the service.

I way this in every one of these threads, but the fact of the matter is the projections have no utility at all. They are more wrong than right, and you will NEVER see an article around here that compares results to projections. For good reason too, it is simply guess work based on statistical trends that cannot account for all variables in the game of football.

For example, take the Cotchery ranking last week. The staff probably looked at the fact that teams generally pass well against the Cowboys combined with Coles being out and the belief that the stronger-armed Clemens would mean big numbers for Cotchery. Total bust prediction.

My view is that all those tools are for the newbies.

I think you'll find the value around is actually in the pre-season, where both sharks and staff converge to debate interesting topics. During the regular season the news is good, but of course you can get that anywhere.

I always pay the $25.00 because more than anything, Joe and Co. have created and maintain a great internet community with some interesting fantasy football articles as well.

I love this place.

4th year with Joe and the boys......

2 championships, and a 2nd place finish.....and another playoff appearance this year, seals the deal for me.

I'll be spending my $$$ here next year.

I'd like to add :wall:

Being that I now own a business plus still work a fulltime job, I have no time to do any type of homework or projections anymore. Using only the FBG tools, projections, cheatsheets, etc. I am right at the top in each of my leagues and will make the playoffs in all of them.

Thanks guys, keep up the great work!

:kicksrock: Was going to post the same thing. For me it's not so much that FBGs changed my fantasy results, but they have certainly saved me a lot of time.

Honestly, I have not paid for the extras the last 2 years and still do as well. That being said I believe I am going to subscribe next year just because I rely so much on the free content here in the forums and I would hate to think of the free content possibly changing in the future because nobody wanted to pay the subscription.

I like all the preseason info and articles and the dynasty rankings more than the in-season content.....much like the SP a lot of real good info leading up to the season.....not so much in season.....this is my 4th year as a subscriber and I will most likely subscribe again next year.....It is the best site on the net.....FFToday also has good info, but like another poster said they their forums are not even close to FBG's.

I think the MB is the best part of FBGs. There is no other place to have meaningful discussions about players, schemes etc. but I do think the time it takes to sift through the increase in the "tool factor" is approaching 10-fold from before the website changed a few years back. Sometimes I wish I could filter by entering a range based on member #s. :goodposting:

There's a ton of luck involved. That said, I've finished top 4 (money spots) each of the last 6 years in a 12 man league. There's a fair amount of due diligence involved in being competitive consistently. FBG makes that a lot easier.

Just to give praise again (regardless of the naysayers):

I'm in the Super Bowl in 3 of 3 leagues - thanks to FBG.

I honestly think I'd dominate my leagues with or without FBG's. I'm just that good. That being said, I enjoy the content.

I join for mostly the DD. Easily one of the best tools for your draft. Having that info right in front of you with VBD is GREAT! I am in 2/2 Super Bowls this year. It is my second year subscribing, I came close last year and if not for injuries, it would have been 2/2 again. Using your leagues scoring with the players, and having the draft tracker and knowing who took what helps you so much in anticipation of who you should take to start a run, or how many at a position have been taken and which teams need what. I can't say enough about how much easier it is to draft.

The projections have been hit or miss. Could be better, but with the teams you help create, you do not even need the projections. Plug in your studs and go.

Thanks for a great season.

Other sites may be free, but I will pay $26.95 all day for the type of info and service you provide.

I second the Cecil hair do. Cecil, that style is out. Fire your hairdresser for the 5 minute drill and go with something more fresh. How about the Trump Combover?

Yeah guys, into the final game again this year. Without your help, I would be pulling my hair out! That's two years in a row!! Prize for 2nd place is $100, and first is $150, so thanks for the cash!!!

:pickle:

From the days of cheatsheets.net through now, this site has made me a LOT of money. Onward to the SB in one league (thanks to a 20 point comeback tonight and one certain rookie running back), and the semifinals in the other!!!

I'll add my thanks to the staff here at FBG. I'm making one Superbowl in my 3 leagues, but got knocked out in the semi's in my other 2.

With the DD tool, and weekly content, I was a top performer in all my leagues, with nothing lower than a 3 seed as a division winner.

Great work, and I'll be back next year.

Eight year FF player here -- play in one large money league and 2-3 smaller sattelite and free Yahoo leagues each year. Won six championships in the smaller leagues; took home two in my main money league, and now going into my fourth Superbowl to the chagrin of my buds.

While I believe I play this game with the passion, intelligence, research, and tenacity it takes to win, no question I owe tons and tons of credit to the insight of both the staff here at FBG, and the extraordinary contributions of many on this board.

Not to take anything away from the staff, as they do a phenomenal job year-in/year-out of pairing quality customer-first servce with knowledgeable opinion, projections, and fantastic tools.

But this board often goes unheralded -- I've come to rely on many key contributors here to add their own spot-on insight and breadth of opinion. The high bar the Shark Pool intelligentsia sets, along with the local insight and the instant updates coming from all corners of the globe just makes this incredible site that much better.

Kudos to you all.

My understanding is that the staff here has made full time jobs out of this site.
Just to clarify - there are two owners (one of which has another full time business) and one full time employee at Footballguys. No one else is full time.

Really?

To those of you that say you're dominating your league, try playing in leagues with a bunch of FBG'ers, it's actually much more fun and the competition will make you that much better. And dont say your leagues ARE full of fellow FBG'ers, because you wouldnt be "dominating" them if true. I'm just sayin...

In the playoffs in 4/4 redrafts and 2/3 dynasties. In the championship game in 3/7. :lmao: I'd like to think I'm that good.. but i know it's this site.

One of my leagues has at least 50% FBGs. Generally speaking, you're right about the level of competition. The only reason I'm consistently on top in this league is because I was a FBG at the start of the league ( borderline dynasty, keep 8 ) and I was able to build a strong roster that has carried over. But the rest of the league is catching up and it'll be a fun run.
