I know some of you have been looking for one and I think the sale ends tomorrow. If you have that red cart app, you can get a controller and Call of Duty for 10% off. That's ending tomorrow also.

How many games can you download onto 500gb before it's a problem?

What do you do when it is a problem? Can you store it on a cloud, external drive, etc?

The girl at Target said you have to buy the external drive specifically made for PS4. It's $100 I think.

Any hard drive can be formatted for use on XB1 and PS4.
Really? I have a spare 1TB that I'm currently not using...

All the sources I'd seen said that PS4 will only play games from the internal hard drive. An external can only be used for music, movies, etc. Or you could do a whole system backup for later restore to one. Sony has directions on how to replace the internal hard drive. Xbox you can play games off an external.

Yep.

I guess it's easy to replace the internal drive in the ps4. But as far as external drives go Xbox did that part right.

Once you buy the game from PSN it's yours, whether it's on your drive or not.

You can download/play/delete/download again as much as you want.

How many games do you need on your HD at any one time?

How is that in any way a "scam"?

Gotta buy a $100 hard drive to download and play the game? Maybe I am not understanding the posts.

I'm still in the market for a PS4 bundle. But battlefront sucks and Uncharted is just old games. I'm hoping for a good bundled game or extra controller.

I assumed Ps4 and XB1 were like 360 and PS3 in that you can connect an external USB drive for use. Is this not correct?

PS4 is internal only, and you can replace the internal with whatever HD you want. XB1 you can use an external drive.

You can connect a usb.

Xbox One can store/play games, saves, media

PS4 can't play games from usb, only saves and media

I haven't come close to filling my only 500 gigabyte ps4 so not really an issue for me but if you want, buy another hard drive you can upgrade it in about 15 minutes. So I don't know what people do that use all that space

Plus, if you think space will be an issue, just get a 1TB ps4 to start off. Like you said, not sure what people need all this space for though.

Considering games are exceeding 40gbs and you only can access about 80-85% of the quoted space of a hard drive, that's only about 10 games you can have at a time on a hard drive for a 500gb one. Also consider they have Ps4s for $299 with 500gb and $450 for the TB. $150 for 500gb? Umm no. You can get an external 500gb for less than $50 now and 1tb hd for less than $60.

You can get an internal hdd for pretty much the same price and replace it your self. 65 for a 1 TB on amazon right now. Yes they are marking up that 1TB model. I'm never playing more than 10 games at a time.

Worst case I can redownload again

But I don't play a lot of games at the same time

So I bought this bundle, an extra controller, and Call of Duty. Might get Madden and Fifa for me. Anything else I'm gonna need for.Christmas morning? Is there a way to play on two TV's at the same time in different rooms instead of split screen? Do I need to buy something for that? Is two controllers enough? TIA!

SW Battlefront is already marked down to $39 at GameStop. Does that game suck? Was looking forward to that for a Xmas present.

I am wondering the same thing. I just played a game of the original Battlefront on ps2. It would be great if they just updated that with some graphics at some point. That game is great.

I guess I am in the minority and don't know why I would be playing more than 10 games at a time.

If it was as quick as changing a disc then there would be no issue. But when you have to install and reinstall these things to play them now its a chore.

:lmao:

I guess i wasn't that put out by the 15mins or so it took to download Fallout on my ps4.

I get sports games wanting to be on there permanently , but it seemed like the ones I have were smaller gb requirements as well.

If I want to play a game out of the blue, I don't want to have to wait 15-40 mins depending on my internet connection to play it.

There's a thread somewhere for the game. Just about every review I've heard of it was unanimous that it is fantastic at capturing the feel of the movies, but the actual game elements are very limited to where it is going to be repetitive and get old fast. As in, only a few game modes, only 4 maps for each game mode, no single player worth the time, and not much in the way of weapons to unlock that you'll use in place of your normal one.

Again, I have no dog in this fight. I don't care what system you end up getting. I have owned them all. I just don't want people to make decisions on "bad" information. If you want a ps4 and are worried about space. Buy the 500gb version. Buy a $70hdd and swap them out.

It's a tiny more effort than and external HDD. You don't have to buy the marked up Sony 1tb console
