Yeah, what's more boring than running one back against your arch rival on MNF to stay undefeated ?Probably one of Hester's most boring return TDs in all honesty.
It's not like he was running it back against a professional football teamProbably one of Hester's most boring return TDs in all honesty.
People stopped kicking to him. Obviously they had very good reasons..Did they stop using him on kick returns for a long time or something?
Sure the context was great. But the actual play itself wasn't all that special relative to other punt return TDs (including other Hester return TDs).Yeah, what's more boring than running one back against your arch rival on MNF to stay undefeated ?Probably one of Hester's most boring return TDs in all honesty.
That and he dances around like a fool alot back there. Notice on this one, and almost every single one PR prior where he scores, he makes 1, maybe 2 solid cuts at speed and he is gone.People stopped kicking to him. Obviously they had very good reasons..Did they stop using him on kick returns for a long time or something?

I'm also looking for the answer on this because I have Royal in my lineup and we do get return yardage pts, so this could be huge. I noticed that when Cox fumbled the punt, they put Royal in, but I don't know if it's a permanent change.any idea who takes KR for DEN if Cox is out? Looks like Royal goes back to PR

Perrish Cox has muffed the punt-return job back to Eddie Royal.
Cox, a promising rookie whose first-quarter muff of Pat McAfee punt set up a short Indianapolis Colts's field goal on Sunday, will continue to return kickoffs.
But those more pressure-packed returns on punts — where the ball hangs seemingly forever while one or two defenders bear down at full speed — will most often be handled by the more experienced and sure-handed Royal.
"We don't like when we drop the ball on the ground, certainly nobody does," Broncos coach Josh McDaniels said today. "As a young player, you don't want to throw away every opportunity that we have as a returner (just) because he's made a mistake or two."
McDaniels had tried to spare Royal return duties because of Royals' heavy workload at receiver in the first two games. After Cox's muff in the Broncos' 27-13 loss to the Colts, Royal returned the next four punts, for an impressive 57 yards.
Royal's returns may have come at the expense of his receiving, though, as he had four catches for only 23 yards.
Meanwhile, right tackle Ryan Harris (left ankle) and cornerback Andre' Goodman (thigh) returned to practice Wednesday. Among those who did not practice where receiver Brandon Lloyd, safety Brian Dawkins, running back Knowshon Moreno and fullback Spencer Larsen.
If they play 16 divisional games this year he probably will.Macdaddy_2004 said:Brandon Tate is leading the league in return yards - do you forsee him getting 2000 return yards this year?
LINK...Jordy Nelson? What do you think, does he lose his postion on Returns because of the 2 fumbles?
McCarthy didn’t come out and say that Jordy Nelson would lose his job as the team’s kick returner, but it’s clear other options will be explored heading into Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins in Landover, Md. Nelson lost two fumbles against the Lions, ruining what had been a good start to the season for the third-year player out of Kansas State. “We’ll look at that,” McCarthy said. “There’s accountability back there. You have to hold onto the ball. “I think Jordy’s done a good job the first three weeks. I think he’s doing a good job of recognizing what we’re trying to do from a return standpoint. I think we’re doing a much better job blocking on the return game. But there’s no excuses for having the ball on the ground twice. We’re not going to play like that.”
McCarthy mentioned three players — cornerbacks Tramon Williams and Pat Lee, and running back Dimitri Nance — as potential replacements if the staff decides to take Nelson off kickoffs. “We’re going to spend a little more time this week, particularly with our specialists throughout our special teams,” McCarthy said. “We have to do a better job handling the football.”
He's been electric thus far - I can't really see them taking him off of returns.Curious about Brandon Tate's role in the return game after the Randy Moss trade.
linkOffensive coordinator Mike Johnson said WR Ted Ginn was “not totally healthy yet” and would likely share snaps with Dominique Zeigler at No. 3 wide receiver against the visiting Eagles on Sunday night. Ginn has missed the past three games with a sprained MCL. Punt returner/kickoff returner Kyle Williams has a sprained right middle finger, an injury he suffered after catching a punt awkwardly Wednesday. Williams' finger was in a splint Thursday and he missed practice. Ginn would likely handle return duties if Williams can't play.
Any news on this? I have not been able to find any info.has Demaryius Thomas taken over as the permanent kick returner for DEN?
Denver's website reports:"Thomas, who has 11 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown this season, said special teams coordinator Mike Priefer came to him last week and asked if he’d be ready to handle return duties. The receiver told him he’d be happy to get on the field any way possible.""McDaniels said Thomas also will see time against the Ravens on the kickoff and punt return team as well."Any news on this? LINKThe Green Bay Packers are not throwing the baby out with the bath water. After their kickoff return unit performed well in the three season-opening games, coach Mike McCarthy has decided to stick with Jordy Nelson as his returner despite last week’s two turnovers. Among players with eight kickoff returns — two per game — Nelson ranks 14th with a 24.3-yard average per runback. He’s tied for fifth with 11 returns of 20-plus yards. “We have things to build on,” Nelson said. “I think that’s maybe one reason why I’m still back there. The guys up front have been doing a great job. I just need to continue to do what I was doing and not put the ball on the ground and keep putting our offense in a good situation, out at the 3
LINKOAKLANDCaldwell hopes for more of the same from his return man Sunday. He declined to name Kenny Moore or Justin Tryon, who returned three kicks for a 25.9-yard average after Devin Moore was hurt at Jacksonville, but the return men had little doubt. "I think it's Kenny's job," Tryon said. "I've never come into it being 'the guy,' " said Kenny Moore, who hopes also to relieve cornerback Jerraud Powers of punt return duties. "It was always, like, just jumping in, so to have a chance to come in and know that I'm going to be the guy and being comfortable and the confidence is there, that says a lot."
LINKThe Oakland Raiders should have a new punt returner Sunday. Nick Miller, who was the darling of the Raiders’ 2009 training camp, will be responsible for fielding Mike Scifres’ punts. Sunday marks his semi-official NFL debut as he dressed in Week 2 against the Rams last season, but did not play. As it turns out, Miller was suffering from a broken shin bone that would eventually land him on IR. Now, he’s the healthy one while his teammates are sidelined. “Because of our injury situation, he’s going to have to help us in some teams and things like that,” Raiders head coach Tom Cable said, per Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune. “He’s a very energetic guy, naturally, so he’ll bring some energy to the game, that’s for sure,’’ Cable said. “He wants to get out there and go.’’ Johnnie Lee Higgins could also see time field punts.

Huh? The Huddle reports:(TheHuddle) The Denver Broncos may use WR Eddie Royal as their primary kick and punt returner in Week 6, according to The Denver Post's Mike Klis. The Broncos took him out of the returner because they wanted him to be fresher in the offense.Analysis: Royal was already handling half of the return duties, sharing with CB Perrish Cox. Cox has made too many mistakes so Royal will take over entirely. It's not expected to interfere with his offensive snaps. If anything fantasy owners should welcome his extra 3-5 touches as more chances to score.Anyone have the real deal on this?Denver's website reports:"Thomas, who has 11 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown this season, said special teams coordinator Mike Priefer came to him last week and asked if he’d be ready to handle return duties. RotoworldThe Vikings intend to increase Percy Harvin's return duties, potentially adding punts to his responsibilities.
Harvin is already the Vikings' primary kick returner, and scored on the opening kickoff of the second half in Week 6. Adding punts would only increase his value in return-yardage leagues, and give him another way to find the end zone in standard settings. He's an every-week starter regardless of format.
I have no insider info here, but from where I sit it looks like Arenas is the primary KR when healthy. He hurt his ankle 3-4 weeks (?) ago, and McCluster was the primary option while he got back to 100%.KC's decision-making on this appears to be more than just a "coin flip": When Arenas is healthy, he's generally regarded as the better KR, so watch his injury status for more insight on McCluster's role.Macdaddy_2004 said:I'd like some input on this as well - I was counting on some KR yards from McCluster going forward but if they are just flipping the coin every week than I can't see how I can roll with him.
The stats and TD numbers don't bear this (that Arenas is the better returner) out 1/4 through the season, but Todd Haley's decisionmaking does seem to be divorced from reality (i.e., not giving Charles a bigger load). Hmmm. If this is accurate (and I have no reason not to believe that), big hit to McCluster's value in return yardage leagues.I have no insider info here, but from where I sit it looks like Arenas is the primary KR when healthy. according to some guy in the idp kr thread, they had mccluster and arenas on the field for kr's and arenas just happened to be the target.llanoff said:Anyone know why Arenas got so much more return yardage action in the Houston game? Has KC made a decision to cut back on McCluster's role in that area? Makes a big difference in return yardage leagues.
