QB Bo Nix, DEN (2 Viewers)

Really happy with his progress. He has a great coaching staff - showed a lot of improvement. Next year they actually have cap room and draft picks to add some talent. He could be a dark horse top 10 very soon.
Soon?

He’s the 10th highest scoring QB in my league so far this season.
15th in mine but climbing!
Interesting. I think this league is 5 pt passing. I guess that makes enough of a difference over 4 pt passing.

Either way he’s been a strong start and is especially handy in Superflex where I have him and went super cheap in auction on my QB budget.

I think I have Stafford and Herbert in over him this specific weekend. But I love watching Nix play so my trigger finger may get itchy and plug him in over Herbert.

Stuck playing him on the road vs Chiefs. Though blown out by a poor Ravens defense he did little damage particularly during garbage time. So I’m not what you would call optimistic.

Currently I have him in over Herbert. But I fully expect to change my mind several times in next 24h.

Its a dynasty league so this is goign to be a weekly pain for me next season as well.

Interesting, I have same QBs but starting Herbert. Feels like he's on a heater right now.

Not sure Nix gets those bonus rushing yds against KCC.

Believe me, I am having similar conflicts. Its close, but I think I will leave Herbert in there.

But what about those bonus receiving TDs. ;)

Well, I guess Herbert is "due" in that category. 😄

Stuck with Nix last week, was like a 1.5pt difference in my league.
I think I am rolling with Herbert this week though.

I'm on the fence... might come down to a weather forecast.

If Bo Nix has 200+ passing yards and 2+ passing TD against the Falcons, he'll join Peyton Manning as the ONLY rookies in NFL history to have 200+ passing yards and 2+ passing TDs in four-straight home games.

Elite company.

Bo Nix Breakout Game….He is right in the thick of OROY race now

▪️Bo Nix: 2,300 pass yards & 14 TD’s, 300 rush yards & 4 TD’s, 1 Rec TD (6-5 record)

▪️Jayden Daniels: 2,338 pass yards & 10 TD’s, 482 rush yards & 4 TD’s (7-4 record)

Is this another Zach Wilson or Mitch Trubisky situation? I read that he is constantly having to get cues from the sidelines. That isn't a good thing for complex NFL offenses. He also makes poor decisions from the pocket and has panic throws.

Okay, first of all, Wilson wasn't highly regarded until his final year at BYU which was an outlier for him in that Covid season. All told he had 28 starts. Trubisky had all of 13 starts under his belt.

Nix started 60 games in college. That's the record. That's in stark contrast to Wilson and ESPECIALLY Trubisky. This point is in arguable, so it stands.

Next, poor decisions and panic throws? HE COMPLETED 77.2% OF HIS PASSES!!!!!!!1111111 What are you even talking about? He had 40 TDs and 3 INTs this year. How on earth do you get poor decisions and panic throws from that?
Just reading scouting report, don’t shoot the messenger. As for the Wilson and Trubisky comment, it was aimed at their current fantasy value, not a comparison of players.

Did this report detail his numbers because if it didn't, seems to be a pretty weird thing to leave out. You don't complete 77% of your throws by panicking.

Neither Wilson nor Trubisky have any fantasy value. Maybe let Nix play an NFL game before reaching that same conclusion?
Sounds like Nix truther. Knock yourself out and draft him in as many leagues as you can.

Thanks! I did.

I love that you post so much on this board. Easiest FBG to short.

screw this guy.

I bet a lot of women in the Denver area are
He's married.

But you're right, that slime ball prob does cheat.
Am I missing something? Why the hate?

Because he was the sixth QB drafted in the first round. Many sports analysts gave him a 2nd or 3rd round grade. People said he was a noodle arm who only dinks and dunks., He was supposed to "suck" but he's possibly the best QB in a strong class.

People just don't want to admit they were wrong.

I swear, pro football scouting can be medieval.

The two factors that corollate most strongly with success in the NFL are games played in college and completion percentage.

Simple translation; you saw a lot of action and you knew what to do with the football.

Nix is the NCAA leader in games played at QB and when he was in college completed 66% of his passes.

Truer words have never been spoken. Although I would prefer that he post less, would be that much less nonsense to sift through. You would laugh if you saw his FF resume. Safe to say there is no correlation between volume of posts and FF success.

I know you hate the Ducks, but Nix is a grade-A nice guy. Very religious. My son is an event coordinator at UO and at the beginning of last year, he helped Bo and Izzy Nix set up a free donut give-away on the first day of classes. My son is NOT a football fan, so he didn't geek out over helping Nix and his wife, but said he could not have been any nicer to work with.

But, I get it, you hate all Ducks. That's fine. Just know this one is a solid guy.

Ehhhh, I think you're smart enough to know where you crossed a line, and no, that wasn't me who reported you. I enjoy a good Beaver/Duck ball-bustin match!

Going 28/33, over 300 yards tonight and 4 TD passes. You have to start putting Bo Nix in the rookie of the year conversation. He has a 14-2 TD to INT ratio since Week 4. One of the best in the NFL. He has 4 games this season completing over 70% of his passes with 2 TDs and 0 INTs. That ties him with Dak Prescott for the most such games in a rookie season ever and we're in Week 11.

Bo Nix yesterday was the first rookie EVER to complete over 80% of his passes for over 300 yards and throw 4 TDs.

Sean Payton is a master at designing clearout routes and concepts to give his quarterback defined open reads. But those concepts take time, and that's where Bo Nix's pocket movement, escapability, and boot game come in. It's a great match.

Bo Nix is trending 📈

Put Nix squarely in the Rookie of the Year race with how he has been playing lately. It's truly remarkable how comfortable he's become in the pocket.

All 22 QB Breakdown: Bo Nix

As the public and media fawn over Nix now, the way things work, the rookie is due for a dud.

Everyone is due for a dud sooner or later.

Oh, he's had some real stinkers already, most recently against Baltimore. His Week 4 game against the Jets before they quit was all kinds of fugly. But he's starting to really complete a high number of passes, which is what he was doing at Oregon, even though he unfairly earned a reputation as a 'check-down Charlie'. I hope he continues this trajectory because it's fun (for me) watching him succeed. But yeah, as a rookie QB, I suppose clunkers are coming. The Chargers' D gave him fits....he has them again. KC tough.

I think the Raiders are the closest thing right now to a bye.....that and Dallas.

Nix has four games this season with 2+ TDs, 0 Ints and a passer rating of at least 115. He joins Justin Herbert, CJ Stroud, Dak and Russ Wilson as the only rookies since 2000 to do this four times. Nobody has done it 5 times and Nix has 6 more games to go.

Giddyup!

The combo of Nix and Payton looks perfect. Nix looks comfortable operating Payton’s scheme and Payton looks comfortable opening up his complete bag of tricks for Nix to exploit.

Hayden Winks
Bo Nix was 7-of-8 on throws with 10+ air yards vs. the Falcons. Some backside throws. Hole shots. Throws on the run.

He was memed to death as a screen merchant, but Nix led the consensus top-6 QBs in on-target rate on passes 10+ air yards and near the sideline (60%) per SIS.

Sean Payton throwing shade on so-called "pundits" who incorrectly evaluated Nix during the draft process.

Reporter: Has Bo's arm gotten stronger than even when you saw him before the draft?

Payton: "No no no no no no no no no no no"" Our pundits eyes in the beginning were weaker"

Kurt Benkert
Just finished Bo Nix tape.

He’s putting on a QB clinic that every young QB should watch.

Decision making, timing, accuracy, footwork, calculated improv, and great throw type selection.

He looks like a young Aaron Rodgers / Drew Brees blend, but is more athletic.

Damn.

Hopefully that 93-yd absolute dime between two defenders to Mims will finally put to bed the myth that Nix can't throw the deep ball
