QB Drake Maye, NE (1 Viewer)

He's getting dangerous.

He keeps moving up in the pocket when there's pressure, but instead of taking off with his legs he's looking down the field and making big plays.

Absolute stud! Drafted him in RD9. Drafted Purdy in RD7 but Maye is the one I wanted all along. It's a must to have 2 very good QB's.

Despite his 27+ PPR points yesterday he was overshadowed by Mahomes last night. Looks like I'm likely to get my first loss of the season despite having Rico's 33.9 points. Puka's 4.8 yesterday and injury uncertainty making life tough over the next few weeks. Keeping hopes up as Rice is in the lineup week 7!

I'm wrong a lot but I think he's going to be the next great one.
We've been screaming this from the mountain tops in Chapel Hill since 2022.
Just wait until NE figures out a way to get Josh Downs out of Indy.
Pretty much no chance Indy trades Downs. I'm sure the Ravens would part with Tez Walker though. A couple guys I think could be available if they do make a WR move:

1. Jakobi Meyers, Raiders are going nowhere fast, they already drafted his replacement, and he's got a lot of experience with Josh McDaniels.

2. DJ Moore, this would probably be the biggest fish (I don't see AJ Brown as realistic without a Godfather type deal) available. In many ways Moore and Diggs overlap.

3. Chris Olave/Rashid Shaheed, NO is a very possible seller, both guys need new deals, and both guys have injury histories. Olave is likely much more expensive but could be worth it. I've always thought Olave is a true #1, just had injury/offense issues. In the case of NO, I wonder if NE would throw a WR back at them. Like maybe Kyle Williams if it wasn't a high draft pick compensation? Or maybe Efton Chism who looked interesting in preseason with a higher pick?

Is it crazy for me to consider moving Jayden Daniels for Maye and maybe trying to upgrade elsewhere? How far apart are these two year 2 guys?

Daniels' upside is 1.5 superbowls. Maye's upside is pure energy.
My leagues don't provide points for Super Bowls or energy levels unfortunately.

To answer your question less flippantly, NE needs to improve its WR and RB rooms and is currently not running the ball well. Conversely, Daniels has a (relatively) better situation, so Maye has an upside advance exclusive from QB vs QB. There is a vocal subset of talking heads who are spinning Maye as the best QB in the 24 draft class, but I write this off as flavor of the month fanboy drivel and don't presume one is better than the other either way.

Hate when the press latches on to a guy before he's done much just because he had a good month. Exactly. Don't jinx it. He's playing great. Let's see how it looks when it gets down to the teens in NE and every yard is excruciating. I think Maye will be good, possibly great but let him get there before crowning him.

I hear ya but there is a belief that he has the IT, and I can’t disagree at this point. He’s succeeding in a situation most young QBs fail.

The hype train still has a LITTLE room left before it’s just completely outta control.

Get your dynasty shares if you still can.

Already whispers “Is this the new Josh Allen” and it took Allen 4+ years to become THAT guy.

I remember the (very brief!) period of time when Josh Allen's accuracy, touch and decision-making were horrendous. By his 3rd season he had become that guy...although it took a little longer to win the mvp. Kudos to the Bills organization for stucking with him despite early struggles.

Oh yeah I meant like “That guy” to own as a can’t not start QB w top 5 potential every year.

But you’re right JA hit it big in year 3 (coinciding w Diggs showing up in his prime)

.@Patriots QB Drake Maye set a franchise record for the highest completion percentage in a single game (min. 20 pass att.) with a 91.3 completion percentage at Tennessee. The previous record was held by Tom Brady, who had an 88.5 completion percentage vs. Jacksonville on Dec. 27, 2009.

He had 4-5 ooh nice throws. Several runs. Idk that I like how he finished some but I'm well versed on gotta be careful how ya mess with a QBs head and running- he's gotta be him.

A lot of his day looked easy. Shameful easy zone defense, bad pass off from CB to S, injuries piling up...it looked like the variety whooped a JV squad in practice.

Hey it's an NFL game and he did it so kudos to him. Lots of praise this year too.

I just...my goodness our defense looked terrible

“We took advantage of lazy cornerback play, lazy safety play."

Kayshon Boutte didn't hold back when describing how he got so open on his touchdown against the Titans
