QB performance heading into the playoffs (1 Viewer)

This was something I did for one of the Tebow posts, but I thought it might have more general interest. I only looked at QBs that have been the starters from week 7-on. Which QBs have provided the most points on average from weeks 7-13? Which have had the smallest variance from week-to-week (using the standard deviation of their weekly fantasy points)?

Scoring is fairly standard: 0.04 pts/passing yard, 0.10 pts/rushing yard, 4 pts/passing TD, 6 points/rushing TD, -2 points/int, -1 point/fumble lost

Here is what the data show, ranked by average points (average/SD):

1) Rodgers: 27.1/4.4

2) Newton: 24.3/8.6 (tie)

2) Brees: 24.3/9.8 (tie)

4) Brady: 20.6/5.6

5) Manning: 18.5/4.6

6) TEBOW: 18.3/3.9

7) Ryan: 18.0/4.3

8) Stafford: 17.9/8.0

9) Romo: 17.3/5.0

10) Roethlisberger: 16.8/5.9

11) Rivers: 15.6/6.7

12) Sanchez: 14.7/6.1

13) Moore: 14.5/5.7

14) Dalton: 14.0/4.3

15) Flacco: 10.9/4.3

Breaking news: Aaron Rodgers is the best QB this year!!!

More interesting is that the QB with the most variance is Drew Brees -- but he does it from such a high level, that even his down weeks are pretty good (of course, there was that one week against the Rams).

The QB with the least variance: Tim Tebow. So, while he may not get you the most points, he gets you a lot (#6 on the chart, just behind Eli) and his points tend to vary by less than other QBs.

Of course, 7 games (6 for those with bye weeks) is a pretty small sample -- but it is almost half a season of production.
