QB's on short rest (1 Viewer)

So far we saw Cutler and Rodgers both struggle after impressive week one performances.

Tomorrow, we will see how Newton and Manning perform both coming off of somewhat poor performances. Does anyone think they will actually have worse performances than the ones they are coming off of?

Will Thursday games noticably affect any position?

Perhaps there will be no measurable difference on average performances, and not enough data to determine more specific stats such as coming off of a Win vs Loss, High scoring vs low scoring, etc.

If there is already a thread on this I am sorry. But does anyone have a link to statistics of teams performing on short rest as well as coming back from a long week?

I wasn't aware the Panthers traded for Schaub.

Thursday's seem like they might have a negative effect, but I'm not sure it changes too many decisions.

People have no option, but to start Cam, Nicks, Cruz, and probably Smith.

Some people might have a comparable option to Eli on their roster, but almost all will not, I'd imagine, so he's a go.

I think the only affected player decisions are probably LaFell and Bennett. I might downgrade both a bit because it's Thursday night.

Anyone starting a RB tomorrow night is only doing so out of total desperation and has no clue what might happen.

You mean Cam?

This is Cam's first nationally televised game against the superbowl champs. I'm guessing he has had this circled all offseason. Eli is too hot right now to underperform IMO.

NYG are at Carolina tomorrow night and not Houston. It will be interesting to track and see if there is a difference in performance that is correlated to the short rest, especially since both Manning and Newton had a very good week 2. I would think that the defenses would be the area to perform less because of the short rest, but who knows.

Yeah, much like Eli was too cold two weeks ago to exceed expectations last week. One game does not make a QB "hot". TB is also a very QB friendly match up, this is not.A thread was created called "Black Friday" that addressed this exact situation. Someone laid out the statistic that 60% of Thursday Night games go under. After watching that debacle of a game last Thursday, I'm inclined to think the short week does indeed effect play. By how much? I'm not sure. No one is sitting Cam, the match-up is too good. The way to attack CAR though is on the ground and via the TE, Gamble and Norman are legit. My expectations for Nicks (I'm and owner), Cruz (I'm an owner)and Eli are very much tempered this week. I won't be sitting them but I know they won't be carrying my teams this week.

Yeah I was high and clicked the wrong manning. Sometimes I get so far into researching stuff that I forget to pay attention to small details like who is actually playing. Gotta lay off of the 420.Sorry about that. Any thoughts on the opriginal topic?

QBs will be fine on short rest, unless they're nursing some type of injury.

Rodgers performed well on TNF, not sure why OP said otherwise. Nelson & Finley had some big drops & missing Jennings made it hard to go deep. Cutler on the other hand, crapped the bed.

Cant find the link but around 60% of thursday night games hit the under, current over/under 51.5. Temper expectations but dont bench anyone unless you have an awesome option to plug in.

Hopefully people won't start Nicks.

I dunno, I think Cam's going to have a good night, the Thursday night curse notwithstanding. 250/2 plus 65/1.
