Quarles out ! Ruud starting .. (1 Viewer)

I have both read and heard reports that Ruud has been taking reps with the first team. Can any Tampa Homer(s) shed any light on this situation? I know Quarles is listed as Questionable at this time.

If any hears or sees something new today, would you mind posting?

As a Ruud owner I agree. If he has a monster game there could be a good chance he hangs on to the spot. I hope he has a game like Porter had! Too bad I benched Porter this week

Sep 8 The St. Petersburg Times reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Barrett Ruud took all the reps with the first-team defense at practice Thursday, Sept. 7, because LB Shelton Quarles (groin) is sidelined with a groin injury. If a questionable Quarles can't play Week 1, Ruud would start in his place. Head coach Jon Gruden would not speculate on whether Quarles will play.

I didn't get to see their final preseason game, but in game before in first half, he had 6 solos and a sack, actually had another sack, but refs called intentional grounding. I would think he didn'y play much in last game, but don't know.

Missed the fact Quarles was even hurt... and traded Ruud and Barlow the other day for S Merriman, C Brown and a 2nd round rookie pick....

I had high value for Ruud... thus the quality of the deal.

He did? I didn't see any of the game but I was dissapointed in him getting only 3 tackles in a game against a running team like the Ravens.

Well in the league I started him in he also had 5 assists and tackles are 2 and assists are 1 so he scored 11 for me Sims was at 17 and Bradie James was at 11 so....Sure I would have liked to have seen more tackles. Given time (if he gets it) I think he'll get only better.
