Quarterback Class 2006 (1 Viewer)

Entering their third-year, the quarterback class of 2006, which looked so promising, sure isn't panning out too well. Jury is still out in a few cases, but it certainly isn't looking too good.

Vince Young: Round 1 : Pick 3

Terrible sophmore year. Said he considered retiring. Tried to take himself out of the game in week #1. Doesn't like when people boo.

Matt Lienart: Round 1: Pick 10

Has been given every opportunity to take the reigns of his team and has failed consistantly.

Jay Cutler (DENVER): Round 1: Pick 11

Is entering make-or-break season. Could be the best of his class but has yet to prove it.

Kellen Clemons (NEW JERSEY JETS): Round 2: Pick 49

Didn't show enough promise to bounce Chad Pennington out of the starting line-up and now that the team has traded for Brett Favre, looks like Clemons is in danger of topping out as NFL backup.

Tavaris Jackson (MINNESOTA): Round 2: Pick 64

Like Jay Cutler, is entering a make-or-break season. Right now, looks to be battling Jay Cutler to be best in his class.

Charlie Whitehurst (SAN DIEGO): Round 3: Pick 81

Who? Exactly.

Brodie Croyle (KANSAS CITY): Round 3: Pick 85

Has been elevated to the starter of the Chiefs, but still hasn't done anything yet.

Cutler was ranked the best by me and thus I grabbed Marshall after Cutler was taken ahead of my pick. This year I grabbed Royal over bigger names with iffy QB situations.

I'd like to see if Whitehurst has what it takes someday.

This could end up being more overhyped than the Couch-McNabb-Smith-Culpepper-McNown class, and those were all top half of the 1st round guys.

I'd say so far Cutler has proven to easily be the best of the class. None of these other guys look likely to have a season as good as what Cutler did last year. Hell, considering his position and how quickly he's developing, an argument can be made that Cutler should have been the #1 pick in the 06' class.
