Sorry, if this is a stupid question but why aren't there set contracts for rookies like in the NBA? Since future rookies aren't in the NFLPA wouldn't that be a simple thing to make happen? I understand NBA careers and NFL careers are quite different in longevity but isn't there a middle ground between what the NFL and NBA does now? There's obviously a reason, I was just wondering what I'm missing.
