Question on Texans Running Game.... (1 Viewer)

Last year the Texans were a pretty good running team.

I know a lot of it was due to the skills of Dom Davis, but even when Wells and Morency got chances they did pretty well, IMO.

This preaseason the run game looked pretty good too with Lundy and Morency tearing it up.

Kubiak, a running game kind of guy, was brought in over the off-season as well.

So my question is-what happened since last year and the preseason?

It seems like the pass blocking magically improved. Is there an overcompensation going on to protect Carr?

:lmao: he said Texans' running game!

Serioiusly though, the Texans' runnning game hasn't been good since 2004. Their defense is really too weak to allow them to establish a ball-control type offense.

but was their defense any better last season? they sucked pretty bad.

is it that the running game actually did suck last season and most of the FF points came from dump passes (i know this was partially the case with dom davis, at least) and kubiak has removed these kind of passes from the playbook (probably partially because moulds helped improve the vertical passing game)?

Domanick Davis is (was?) a much better RB than he's given credit for.

Capers and co. handed the ball to DomDavis even when they were behind. The issue now with the Texans running game is one of talent. Lundy, Morency, Gado and Dayne. The OL has already suffered a couple of injuries and the run blocking has not beensteller. The pass protection really has not really improved (15 sack 4 games I think w/o looking up), but the team has done a better job of completing passes when Carr does have time.

In Kubiacks wisdom he let go who would have been right now his starter in Wells !

And yes Dom was really good - I hope he makes it back.

When youre running game depends on Ron Dayne - sorry you got no running game

Wells was a Unrestricted Free Agent, so there was not any let go...Anyway, please remind of which of the other 31 NFL teams currently thinks that Wells is a good player.
