I am wondering how many years ahead the dynasty rankings are considering..1-3-5? I know last year or the year before you had different rankings for different years looking ahead. Also I have to wonder why the rooks for the most part aren't barely listed in the dynasty rankings. That makes me feel the Dynasty rankings are more of a one year keeper ranking than a true dynasty rank where you keep all of your players year to year.

Please help clarify for me. Though I don't use the rankings as gold it helps me to know if I am being too optomistic on a ranking or not looking at enough.

Also do you take things such as character issues into account while ranking them? I see Santonio Holmes is high in the rook rankings but the kid already has me wondering how many games he will be suspended for year to year.

Again thanks.

I usually take the next three years into account, with the exception of a few RBs who should flourish when their contracts are up and players who have their whole prime ahead of them. I try to be especially conscious of including the rookies.

I'm looking at about a 3-year horizon as well.

Rookies need to (A) prove themselves on this level and (B) get their shot.

Some are coming sooner rather than later, but most are still backups and special teamers. I'm not saying a Jeff King can't emerge as a TE for the future in Carolina, but his impact should be minimal Year 1.

There's likely to be 20-30 at most that make significant "splash" this year, but that doesn't necessarily vault them over Matt Leinart who may not play in 2006.
