Questions About Using VBD for Points Draft (1 Viewer)

I am a big fan of using Value Based Drafting for football and I was wondering if this could be carried over to a Points Style Baseball league?

The starting rosters consist of C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, 2B/SS, 1B/3B, (5) OF's, and 9 Pitchers (any combo of SP and RP), 10 teams total.

One thing I noticed is that after running the numbers is that Pitchers came out much higher than I see them going in most drafts which is what has me concerned.

Any input would be appreciated... Thanks

The variability of pitcher performance due to injury, lack of run support, etc. drops them down in most drafts. You're also more likely to be able to find a halfway decent free agent pitcher during the season than a position player.VBD is more viable in a points-based scoring system than in roto.

:hifive: Wait on selecting SP (and especially RP) as long as possible.
