Will be driving through Charlotte one afternoon. Where should I stop if I have two hours and I want to people-watch, visit shops/restaruants, etc? Dont have time for museums or day-long activities...

Lupie's Cafe, NE part of the city...get you a big ### bowl of chili (half texas, half cincinnati style), a side of homemade mac-n-cheese, and a good beer. Enjoy the food, it's wonderful! After about a half hour, you'll be headed to the bathroom; bring the beer, this'll account for the remainder of the 2 hours in town. Savor the beer as you observe the various reactions to your noxious emissions, some may even join the party...it's a must-do for Charlotte visits

During the week? I'd stop in at the 7th Street Public Market for people watching and good food/coffee.

Able to have some beers? Then I'd either go to Duckworth's or NoDa brewery if the timing works out.
