"Q" is making a paltry $200/game, $50 bonus for wins. Here's a print story that is similiar to the NFL piece, but you should watch both to get the full effect. He seems more bitter in print: http://www.dallasobserver.com/2007-04-12/n...azing-disgrace/ He basically lost it all due to weed.

In his NFL Total Access I/V, he says he would be top 15 in the NFL right now.

Interesting to think that, until last season, the Cowboys had not been to the playoffs since they cut Carter...Also, when they released him, there were 4 QB's on the roster, Carter, #2 Testaverde, newly acquired (via trade Henson), and Tony Romo, who many thought would be released.

Wow. That's not even the AFL. It's af2-- the developmental league of the AFL.

On the bright side, it looks like he might have turned his life around. And success in the af2 could lead to a shot in the AFL-- some guys now make up to $250,000 there.

Teams WILL give a chance to a guy that can help them win. He can make some good money if he keeps it going. He'll likely never see the NFL again, but if Tommy Maddox can do it, maybe he can. If nothing else, he might be able to make a great living playing football.

I wish him the best.

Tommy Maddox was in the XFL -- but yea, stranger things have happened

yeah I like the quote about how he still thinks he is a top 15 QB.....guess he still hits the weed with a comment like that.

I do wish him the best of luck though on getting his life back together.

I don't know about top 15 but I think he would be a starter in the league if the Cowboys hadn't cut him. I honestly didn't understand the move at the time and if it was really over a failed drug test I don't understand how he lost his case.

There's a reason he was nicknamed Quitcy back at Georgia. Dude had a major cocaine problem at one point too. He needs help.
