R.I.P. Bobby Murcer (1 Viewer)

Just heard the news he passed away. Sad. Although they were the bitter rivals of the Sox, I always liked Murcer.. Tough act to follow Mantle, and he did it with class.

Sorry to hear it. Murcer put up some great years for some bad Yankee teams, then came out here for the Giants in a rare straight-up swap for Bobby Bonds. Now they're both gone.

I'll never forget him winning that game for Thurman. Murcer was a class act all the way to the end. RIP. :(

I can tell you that Bobby was a good man. I had the opportunity to know he and his family for several years. His wife Kaye and her family have a great support group. Bobby was a very gracious human being that understood how lucky he was to get that opportunity.

I think a lot of him and am trying to make way to go to the funeral. His wife and her family are awesome people. I think about how difficult a marriage would be with the schedule Bobby kept, but I can tell you that Kaye's family considered Bobby as one of the children. His brother-in-law Dwayne called him "brother". I know that we all are imperfect, but those that knew Bobby the best are the ones that we hear the most positive from.

Wanted to pick up a Murcer T shirt at the STadium last night, but they didn't have any

Was surprised, figured they would have printed a bunch

RIP Bobby, my first sports hero
