Raiders at Broncos (1 Viewer)

31 yards in the air, looked to me. So tired of this "can't complete over 20 yards" crap.

*Edited to add*

I've been telling everyone panicking here in Denver that it'll be week 5 or 6 before Manning even starts to really hit stride with his WRs. Also - regular refs = slight help to QBs that rely heavily on timing.

Anyone know what the hell is being reviewed on the last play? Stuck with NO @ GB (not that I mind), but the CBS and NFL websites have not moved in like 10 minutes...

Unpossible. I was told that the one thing that was certain to improve with the real refs was the pace of the game.

Maybe the replacement refs are now providing updates to the NFL and CBS websites? That would indeed explain things...

Decker caught the ball and even though he had the ball and carried it all the way through the catch, the end touched the ground. It was ruled a catch on the field and overturned after review. Now this play is going to be reviewed and overturned as well.Bring back the replacement refs!! :P

DT with a nice run after the catch, he went to switch the ball to his other hand, and fumbled :(
how is this scored? does he get credit for the yards?
So what happened? How did the ball go from DEN 29 to OAK 4?
thomas caught a screen pass and took it down the field...as a defender approached (at about the oak 20 or so) he went to switch hands with the ball and dropped it. oakland recovered inside the 5

Ah well, at least the Raider D continued their stellar performance then.

DT was running for a TD fumbled and it when forward and Raiders recovered on the 4
i don't think he would have scored...looked like the oak defender had the angle. denver passing game looks good though

Denver fake FG on 4 and 1--dumb, dumb play....who do you want throwing the ball on 4 and 1--Prater or Manning??
Yeah, did you see Manning on the sideline shaking his head in disgust? I'm with him - I'd take our chances with a run or short pass instead of that goofy fake FG play we ran.

Oakland has to feel prety good being down only 4 considering how well Denver offense played.

Denver needs corners and safeties so badly it is not even funny.

Split McFadden out wide so that the defense knows it doesn't have to worry about the run.

More brilliance from Knapp.
Doesn't Knapp know that all you have to do is hand McFadden the ball and he'll automatically gain 200 yards on us?

I think Denver should trade everything we can for McFadden. He'd run for almost 2,000 yards just in the home games alone...

Our corners aren't as bad as many think. Porter's prone to give up the big play but he can make a play when needed to make up for that most of the time. Champ's older and slower - but if our line can create pressure then he can still cover for a few seconds with the best of them. Our safeties? Um... yeah. No comment there.

Man, I've never seen Manning this mobile before. He's moving in the pocket and rolling out and looking good doing it.

He started doing this the year he won the Super Bowl. He had been getting killed in the playoffs by good defenses like the Chargers and Steelers. He made it a point to start rolling out of the pocket to buy some time and get away from pressure.

I'm not as high on our offense as many of the people around me here screaming "Super Bowl!!!" but there are a few things I've noticed so far:

Manning's arm is looking better. He's told the media here in Denver over and over and over again that he's getting better every week but still has a way to go. We've just chosen not to listen. It seems he's right. I've seen longer passes today, crisper passes, more spirals with hardly any wobblers and he's been moving in the pocket.

His timing with the WRs and TEs is markedly better. Manning's throwing the ball to different receivers in different ways - showing me that he's learning his WRs tendencies and where they like the ball. Same with the TE's. He's learning who to trust with what kind of throws.

Bump Thomas slightly. He's learning how to move when the play breaks down - knowing what Manning's looking for as he moves in the pocket. Peyton has found a favorite audible in the WR Screen to Thomas. Peyton's looking to Thomas more in a pinch.

Again, I'm not one to over react, but there are definately improvements in the offense from last week - regardless of the defense.

The running game? I'm not sure it's any better than the previous weeks. I think our run game is solid - and after watching today I think it's about the same. Not spectacular - solid. I wouldn't bump McGahee but would keep him as a solid starter in fantasy terms.

Our O line is getting better each week. Adjusting from Tebow to Manning has taken time. I've heard that they've been watching film like crazy with Manning - learning how he moves and how to block to fit his pocket preferences.

Ah, good insight. I've not seen all his games from Indy. I saw a good amount and don't remember seeing him moving like today - but I must have missed the ones you refer to.
