Raiders Sign First Round Pick RB McFadden (1 Viewer)

You have to figure the team wasn't going to let the same thing happen as with Russell last year. That set his development back, and I'm sure they want to get Russell and McFadden on the same page immediately.

Great news for the Raiders. IMO, McFadden is going to play a huge role in Russell's development this year. He has great hands and elusiveness. I think we're going to see a lot of short passes and screens to him to get him into the open field. That's not only good for him, it's good for Russell. High percentage passes to get his confidence going early. I'm hoping that gives him time to develop chemistry and rhytym with his WR's.

Lots of people are going to look past Oakland this year. I think they are going to surprise many of them.

This locks it: I am taking him at 1.2 in my dynasty draft (Ryan will go 1.1-2QB league). ADP+RunDMC=best backfield for the next 7 years.

I believe it's a six year deal, which is a nice surprise, as everyone assumed it was going to be a 5 year deal, after the owners ducked out of the CBA.

Wow, your team must really suck to have two high draft picks in a row :lmao:j/k, as I do realize people make trades. Barring injury that will be a great backfield.

I traded up from 1.4, but yeah, my team sucked last year. I had Leinart and Eli for my two starting QBs for most of the year, then traded Leinart+Benson+ for Schaub+S. Young the week before Schaub went out with injury for 4 weeks or whatever it was. My backup was Alex Smith. It was just that kind of year.

I really, really think this kid is going to be something special for a long time. I've been salivating about him getting into the NFL and onto my teams since I first saw him play as a freshman. I know everyone's concerned about his skinny legs, but I have faith that he'll put in the work he needs to bulk and get an NFL body. And honestly I don't think he's far off right now.

Great news for the Raiders, Raider Fans, Darren McFadden, JeMarcus Russell, Lane Kiffin and most importantly Darren McFadden fantasy owners. I agree with Silver and Black, and take that as a real compliment, I bash the Raiders at the drop of a dime, they're making some real good moves.

How much did they pay him? Is higher paid than Reggie Bush who was the highest paid RB in the league?

After the ridiculous SB the Raiders threw at Walker, how could they negotiate with DMC for a low signing bonus? If I were DMC's agent I would have a sign made with the words "Javon Walker" printed on it with a wooden handle. Every time the GM showed me a low ball offer I wouldn't say a word and just hold up the sign.

Hehe. Constantly reminding the ownership of one of the worst FA signings in history might not be the way to win them over. DMC wanted to be in camp on time and made it happen. Props to him.

That has yet to be determined. With one newspaper saying that Kiffin says Walker is overweight and another quoting him saying that Walker is healthy and explosive does not help matters. But we really won't know that it is a poor decision for a couple of years. If Walker goes out and has three 1200 yard seasons it won't be a bad signing. Not saying it's likely, just that it could happen...

I heard on the radio 6 years $60 million with 26 million guaranteed

$19.6 MM signing bonus

$7.4 MM "falling of the log" bonus - he has to reach certain playing time and possibly performance incentives

per PFT
