Rams OL Terrell needs wrist surgery, out for season (1 Viewer)

Offensive lineman Claude Terrell, a second-year veteran who started 10 games at guard for the St. Louis Rams in 2005, will undergo season-ending surgery to repair an injured right wrist that has plagued him for virtually all of training camp.

Terrell had been projected as the Rams' starting left guard entering camp.

In the absence of Terrell, second-year veteran Richie Incognito, a third-round choice in 2005 who did not play a snap as a rookie because of a prolonged salary dispute that lasted well into the season and then a knee injury, has claimed the starting job at left guard. Incognito moved into the starting lineup early in camp and has maintained the job throughout the preseason.

Does this bring down Jackson, Bulger or Holt/Bruce projections?

Did Terrell play at all this TC??

I was under the impression that Incognito took the starting job away from him before he injured the wrist -- but I could definitely be wrong about that

Even if Incognito only got the job bbecause of the injury, is Terrell really that much better than Incognito??

Chris Smith's offensive line article had Incognito (great name, btw) as the starter back on 8/3

The Rams organization expected Claude Terrell to be the starting guard back in early Spring camps but Incognito came on quickly throughout those camps and was already written in as the starting guard when training camp opened up. This will hurt the Rams a little when it comes to depth but has no impact on the starting skill players for the team unless injuries along the OL occur.

Upgrade to the running game...Terrell is terrible

Incognito is a big improvement as long as he can stop getting penalties :)

I had to laugh at Incognito's quote today saying how the refs are always "flag happy" in the preseason. (this coming from a guy that has never played in a regular season NFL game) I guess he thinks those 2 cut blocks will be ok once we get to week one.
