ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis Rams offensive tackle Orlando Pace left Monday's morning practice with what the team believed to be minor ankle and knee injuries.

Coach Scott Linehan said Pace's leg "kind of got rolled up" during a 9-on-7 drill. He said after time Pace appeared to shake it off, but the team scheduled X-rays as a precaution.

"It didn't appear after he walked it off that it was anything real serious, but we're going to take an X-ray, and when I know more about it I'll let you know," Linehan said.

Veteran Todd Steussie finished practice with the first team at left tackle for Pace, who made his seventh straight Pro Bowl last season.

Thanks for the link. That could be huge if it's significant. May want to update the thread title to say minor leg injury until then, though.

OT Pace's Injuries Are Minor, Day-To-Day

Bill Coats, St. Louis Post-Dispatch - [Full Article]

The sight of OT Orlando Pace being carted off the practice field is enough to send any coach into a cerebrovascular incident. So HC Scott Linehan's relief when he learned that Pace wasn't seriously injured Monday was understandable. Pace suffered what the medical personnel called "slight sprains" of his right ankle and knee in the morning practice at Rams Park. X-rays showed no broken bones. Pace sat out the evening workout and is listed as day-to-day. Veteran OT Todd Steussie took over for Pace with the No. 1 offense and earned high marks.
