Who would have thought....

- 8 minutes into the first game the best quarterback in the league might be done for the year?

- Carolina stuns San Diego?

-It took only those 8 minutes for the AFC to become WIDE open.

Nice to see a female here, btw.

The way the Bills handled Seattle was impressive. Solid D, awesome RB, talented young receivers. We may have to keep an eye on these Bills.

Manning is hurt??For me:- CIN and STL appear even worse than I expected, and that's saying something. The STL OL looks even worse than last year (I did not think that was possible) and if Linehan survives the year, ownership should be smacked upside the head.- DET D will be the worst in the league- Chris Johnson may be the real deal (not just a "change of pace breakaway threat") and not just be getting most of the carries, but storm the league and be a fav for ROY far quicker than I expected.- Campbell and Young still suck. Shocking

The Steelers offensive line improved with the loss of a pro bowler.
While I'm reticent to get too worked up over such a beatdown, a large part of that, for one week at least, is simple to explain: Sean Mahan is on the Bucs roster now instead of starting at C for the Steelers.Mahan certainly had a trickle down effect, especially in pass protection, on that entire interior offensive line. The fact that Hartwig isn't instantly being shoved backwards 4 steps in long yardage situations should go a long way to at least helping remedy the poor pass protection the Steelers had a year ago. Does anyone want to imagine Mahan vs. Okoye? UGH-LEE.I still have concerns about the right side of their OL protecting for the pass, but at least it appears it isn't compounded further by having a turnstile at C.

I'm not a huge fan of Philip Rivers. Sure, he can have a great game from time to time, but he just doesn't generate offensive consistency the way Brady, Manning, Romo, Big Ben, and Favre do. He's not terrible, but he's just another guy. Not sure the Chargers will ever win a championship with him.

Baltimore's defense is dominant when healthy.

Randy McMichael looks reborn with Al Saunders.

The Patriots will still win double digit games with Cassel. If he has to start the rest of the year I think he's worthy of a roster spot in all leagues.

While healthy, Sammy Morris is arguably more valuable than Maroney.

Matt Jones might be a legit NFL #1 WR for Jax this year. Fantasy wise that could pay great dividends.

The Atlanta o-line continues its dominance in the run game from the preseason. Norwood looks like a good value play.

Pierre Thomas could be in for a very nice year in TD heavy leagues.

Antonio Bryant's stats were not impressive, but he looked explosive. Watch him next week vs Atlanta.

Brady Quinn might get a shot this year.

JT O'Sullivan didn't throw a TD, but he averaged 9.8 yards per attempt. He doesn't play a pretty game, but I thought he played well today.

Isaac Bruce won't improve on last year's stats. Bryant Johnson is the SF WR to own right now, but Morgan got looks and is still a darkhorse.

Ted Ginn and the Jax backfield are possible buy-low candidates.

No doubt Hartwig was a huge add, but I think Faneca was still upset about Wiz not getting the HC job and not getting a new contract that he brought the line morale down a good bit.

Rivers is sorta "Neil O'Donnell v.3.0" to me. Updated for Vista, certainly, but still basically just a "care-taker" type. His team wins games, but he's sort of just along for the ride most weeks.

I don't disagree with the bolded part. I also think he was cheesed that their FO didn't just bend over and pay him too. I'll also allow that, in part, his play went south a smidge likely for having to be aware of Mahan's guy as well as his own. Faneca has certainly regressed, especially in pass pro., the last couple years, but he probably did an awfully lot of chipping on Mahan's guy in 2007 along with dealing with his own man. Simmons sure isn't good enough to have been asked to do it.

-Chris Johnson looks like the real deal and I have him on zero teams. L. White may get 10 Td's but Johnson is money, especially in PPR leagues.

-Philly is good, they could easily win the division

-The Dallas offensive line looked awesome today

-Washington looked horrible and appear to be the worst team in the division

-Michael Turner is the real deal but Norwood also had like 90 yards and a TD. The Lions defense is a joke but what they accomplished was impressive.

-Carolina looks to be a playoff team, solid defense and solid rushing attack.....Delhomme is an underrated football player, I knew that ever since that gutsy performance in the SB versus New England.

-Braylon Edwards looked slow and clumsy

Seattle is in for a long season, this whole thing with this Holmgren being his last year in Seattle is going to be ugly. No rushing attack and no passing attack.

The Saints are who we thought they are, a team that will put up a ton of yardage but will also give up the yardage.

Looks like FWP might be the SOD

Cleveland's run defense is still bad......not that you'd bench FWP, but he could easily have another multiple TD week next week as well.

I was surprised when Elam hit a 50 yarder today, don't know why.

I wasn't surprised when Tennessee beat Jax nor the poor performances by all Jags playerers.

Rookie RB's Forte, Chris Johnson, Kevin Smith and Felix Jones all scored a TD in their first week, proving that RB is easily the position that rookies can make an immediate impact.

The loss of Brady proves that just about anything is possible.

Agree with every single one of these, particularly re: McMichael, P. Thomas, A. Bryant, and JTO.I'll add:--DeAngelo looks very much like he could be a workhouse RB in the NFL--That Rosario guy looks legit. I'm regretting only picking him up in a couple of leagues--Dare I say LT didn't look like LT?--While not a horrible game stat-wise, Warner ticked off a lot of owners this week

The Pats may squeak out 10 wins, but I doubt it. They barely beat Kansas City at home. KC is one of the worst 3 or 4 teams in the League this year - without a doubt. In my opinion the Pats slipped a notch or two even with a healthy Brady. Without Brady - they are average to slightly above. You couldn't be more wrong about Sammy Morris. His missed block was the play that did in Brady today. Belichek was being way too cute rotating the RB's today. He should be riding Maroney more.

Reggie Bush looked like the player he's supposed to be today...silly dangerous in open space, and managed to knock off 50 on the ground with great foot soldier support from Pierre Thomas. Don't ask him to do too much and all inside running, and he may not be "Reggie Bust"

a 6'-0" 260 lb fullback led the ravens in rushing and looked good doing it. Now it was against the bengals who look to lose at least their 1st 5 games this year (man they suck) but he out did Rice in the process. Does he think he is Jerome Bettis v2?

I thought Faulk was in the backfield when Brady went down. That's what Merril Hodge was saying at least. I could be wrong.Either way, Morris was on the field a lot even after that play and looked good. I like Maroney, but between the 2 of them, I'll take the guy who is more likely to be in at the GL and can be acquired much more easily.

*Carolina and Buffalo's D will make a lot of decent offenses look bad this year.

*What Fisher meant by "feeding the hot hand" is "LenDale...Chris Johnson is the hot hand."

*Alge is buy-low. Chris Johnson will be accounted for from here on out.

*Cotchery the WR is the same guy, but Cotchery The Jet will be born again. He doubles his TD total (8) heading into this year.

*Steve Smith is gonna go apesh*t when he returns. He might be the best fantasy WR by years end in spite of the suspension.

*Ryan and Turner owners are heading for a letdown. The Lions D is the anti-Panthers/Bills sentiment above.

*It's scary to look at the Saints stats line and know (as one of the few people who watched this game) the Bucs played well on D and actually held them in check.

*It's a mistake to judge Houston, J-Ville and SanFran by today. These offenses all have better days in store.

Despite all the talk about the schedule, the Steelers should repeat as AFC North champs without much trouble.

Why is Ginn a buy low? Did he show anything today? I mean, Pennington had 250+ yards and Ginn got squat.

I didn't see any of that game, but I was ready to simply waive Crumpler after that performance. What makes you think there is something to be hopeful for?

Baltimore will be trouble IMO.
I'm not willing to crown anyone division champs after one week, but if the Ravens need to rely on 40 yard rushing TDs out of WRs and Joe Flacco every game, they're probably not much of a threat.

I am skeptical if the shoulder is a big issue. Plus, we didn't learn that from this week, since he was suspended. However, I do think he will be a top WR this season, just don't know how much these two weeks will hurt him.

He didn't even dress today.

The Texans looked much like they looked in their 2-14 season, which was the last time they got any love as an up and coming team.

It's not at all clear to me that Schaub should be playing ahead of Rosenfels. For that matter, the QB of the future may not be on the roster.

After 1 game, it looks like Kemo is an upgrade at LG in addition to Mahan's departure.

Great TD reception by Bush, but when his foot hit the sideline the ball was still at the one. Should have been reviewed.

Will Vince Young's injury turn out to be a benefit for the Titans offense?
hate to say it, but Kerry Collins >> VY..Kordell Stewart v2.0 lives on in Tenn..
I think Vince is a hell of an athlete, but he doesn't seem to have the tools at this point. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh given it was early in the season, but the sample size seems to be big enough by now. I think if the Titans do well in his absence it could make things very interesting in Tenn.

Man, Schaub looked like David Carr today. Complete with throwing into double coverage repeatedly. Sacks galore. Throwing the ball right to the defense and the classic Carr pose after an INT: place both hands on helmet and give the appearance of 'what have I done'. Sage will replace him at some point this year.
