1. Remember when the two white divers (Who didn't like or tolerate him because he was black) jumped in to bring Carl Brashear (Men of Honor) up to the surface? Remember how good we all felt when that happened? Yea, it's time for us to jump in and do whatever we can to help end systemic racism etc. Enough is enough. I don't know what I can do, but I'm listening to my friends who are hurting right now and was told just to get educated and listen, and keep communicating.

2. Kneeling during the National Anthem.

No matter what, you will have a segment of people that will not or refuse to understand. So here is a        compromise that I think brings even more attention to the message......

Before the Anthem is played have a 1 or 2 minute moment of silence where the PA says something along the lines of "We will now have a moment of silence to help bring awareness to systemic racism and racial inequality, please show respect and stand with us to help end this plight on America.

Then play the NA

Fwiw I think your post is constructive and frankly this place needs new thoughts and actual original OP's.

I'll just point out that during the last BLM crisis Brees and the Saints arranged at a team approach where they would kneel together then stand together. I don't really want to argue with anyone, I just thought your basic underlying motive of unity and respect is worthwhile supporting.

I told my wife that I'll never kneel for the National Anthem, but would support the cause in other ways. I mentioned something like a moment of silence, but that loses its impact over time and I don't think it would satisfy the movement.

What do we do when people talk, go buy nachos, or otherwise ignore the moment of silence?

Exactly. The whole point was to do something that would bring attention to the movement, even if that attention was negative for some. A planned moment of silence would lose any impact it was supposed to have. Last thing people who are trying to make a statement want is for the movement to be hijacked by the establishment. Then nothing gets done. When you’re told what the protest is going to be, it’s not really a protest any longer.
