Randy Moss TV (1 Viewer)

per @realfreemancbs here are some of the high/lowlights:

Randy Moss was asked if he's ever been to Canada. His response: "No but I would to go and see those Grizzly bears."

Moss just gave a very passionate talk about why he retired.

Moss just said he was disappointed and hurt Jerry Rice criticized him.

Moss just pulled out a paper bag that held his hair. The hair he recently cut. Said it smelled like sauerkraut.

Moss said something about coming back to football. But it was slightly incoherent.

This is the great Randy Moss. He's talking about Myra Kraft. Very honest, smart stuff.

Moss: "I don't care about being misunderstood."

Just gave PFT a shoutout.

Moss: Said he retired because of personal issues off the field. Now, he's talking like he's coming back.

Best part about the video...Moss' agent calling at the end.

from PFT:

Receiver Randy Moss retired from football in 2011. Few believed it would stick.

And it’s apparently not going to stick.

The man who once said he plays when he wants to play has announced via a Ustream.tv live video that he wants to play.

“I just wanna go to a team and play some football,” Moss said in an appearance commemorating his 35th birthday, which included at one point an acknowledge of our effort to push traffic to the event by mentioning it on the PFT Twitter page.

“I said I had a surprise for y’all,” Moss added not long after showing off a bag of his hair and pointing out that it smelled “musty,” like “sauerkraut.”

He also explained that he retired because he had things going on off the field, and that his family has told him, “It’s fine, whatever you wanna do.”

What’s he’s going to do is return to the game.

“Faith, family, and football, that’s my M.O., bro,” Moss said. “Your boy be back for the upcoming season.”

The offseason just got a lot more interesting

takes two to tango..just how many teams are interested in signing a has been over the hill malcontent who never gives full effort? my guess is he will still be unemployed in September.

I wonder how long until we hear he's broke...
I dont think that announcement is coming anytime soon. I'm pretty sure he's a smart guy. I remember seeing a segment about his racing team. I got the impression that he had invested his money very wisely and was trying to set up his kids' futures.

Moss wants to return to NFL

Mark Craig

.

Randy Moss was a shell of his former self at age 33. But after a year out of football, the now-35-year-old SuperFreak has announced he wants to return to the NFL. He made the announcement during a 35th birthday celebration. It was reported on Pro Football Talk with a link to the announcement on Ustream.tv.

"Faith, family and football, that's my M.O., bro," Moss said. "Your boy be back for the upcoming season."

Yes, the Vikings need a receiver. No, Moss won't be coming back for a third stint with the team. Strike Two was embarrassing enough for everyone involved that a Strike Three isn't required to call the SuperFreak out as a potential free-agent signing.

It's not a given that anyone will take a flier on Moss at his age, with all his behavioral baggage and with what he put on tape in 2010. That year, he played for the Patriots, Vikings and Titans, catching just 28 passes in 16 games for 393 yards and five touchdowns.

It is possible that someone will sign him considering it wouldn't cost a draft pick and Moss is in no position to bargain for anything but the minimum one-year salary.

The Vikings, who drafted Moss in the first round in 1998 and held onto him until trading him before the 2004 season, were burned too badly when they reunited with Moss in 2010. Former coach Brad Childress traded a third-round pick to the Patriots but had problems with Moss from nearly Day 1. The tension between the two boiled over following the Vikings' loss at New England, leading to Moss take to the post-game podium and interview himself.

Going against team protocol, Childress released Moss without consulting ownership. It came 26 days after the trade and ultimately led to Childress' firing later in the season.

Moss is a few years younger than T.O. and isn't recovering from a major injury. Someone will give him a chance. On the right team he could still make a difference.

I agree. As long as Moss is motivated he can still produce. This will be interesting.
Didn't he pretend to be motivated before when he wasn't? He has never liked contact and I doubt he can separate from DBs anymore. Do you think he still has the ability to separate?

I think he is a physical freak that still has the ability. I am not sure of his motivations, which keeps me skeptical of a return that is fantasy-relevant.

So Cris Carter claims Moss can still run a 4.3 forty

If that is true I think if a team signs him to a vet minimum contract with a lot of incentive/bonus money in it, then I think Moss will be able to help a team and be productive.

So Cris Carter claims Moss can still run a 4.3 forty
I'd say the odds are really good that Moss told Carter that and Carter is just repeating it, rather than Carter actually knowing for sure. Not saying it's not true, but I'd never take the word of a d-bag like Carter.

Best case scanerio for Moss would be 30-400-3

He WAS a physical freak...about 3-4 years ago. He's done now.

I can see that (Moss telling Carter) being the case but if Darrell Green could run a 4.43 40 at age 50, I don't see why Moss can't run a 4.3 40 at 35.

per @JayGlazer:

hearing from multiple sources re Randy Moss workout today he lit it up. Was told he ran about 45 routes and "looked like the old Randy."

from what I gather all parties were pretty floored by his workout. Probably didn't expect him to perform the way he did

45 fly routes has got to be at least a mile of running. Very impressive! Unless he quit on the route halfway.

I don't think anyone has ever questioned Moss' skills or athletic ability. His heart and effort are often the problem. Having a guy like Brees throwing him the ball could keep him motivated, but on the flip side, the Saints spread the ball around like crazy, and there are bound to be weeks where Moss doesn't see the ball a lot, and that is when he will start getting frustrated, which will result in him loafing it.

So this means he ran some and quit on half the others because he wasn't getting the ball?Yep, same Randy.

Assuming Brees is there. I mean, it Will get worked out but I can't believe the Saints took this route with a guy that has been nothing but THE icon of the team. Kind of wonder how much passion and fervor a guy can give when he has done it all and got this type of treatment.

Is there something wrong with the tap water in New Orleans? Geeze, not that I don't think it's a good fit but lots of bad PR going on there to consider bringing in a headcase like Moss.

Fire it up. Anyone else interested, if Randy's truly back?

I'll take him in AZ and put him across from Larry. If he sucks, it's no different from last year anyway. Bring in Peyton and watch out.

I enjoy watching Moss when he's motivated and hope he comes back motivated. Catching passes from Brees wouldn't hurt.

Most people thought Brady would keep Moss motivated, but it didn't happen. I also don't see how Moss would stay motivated being in the Saints offense and not being the primary target on every play.

Moss played well his entire time in NE. He got into trouble with BB and the OC and they stopped targeting him.

Moss to work out for 49ers Monday Feb 12

As a 9er fan Id love them to take the chance on Moss...its not like our WRs can get much worse, but Im not sure it would matter with Alex at QB...

That said, Im hoping a full offseason under Harbaugh will show another step in improvement from Alex, so who knows. If Alex can turn into a 20-25td guy, they will be more than capable of winning a super bowl.

Cool:

San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York announced that head coach and former NFL quarterback Jim Harbaugh will be the arm for today's workout of wide receiver Randy Moss. "Former Colt Pro Bowl QB throwing for #49ers tomorrow. Just to clarify, Coach Harbaugh is turning into Capt Comeback to throw to Randy Moss," York wrote on Twitter. The 49ers have quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick and Scott Tolzien under contract, but neither are allowed to participate in workouts at the team's facility during this part of the NFL calendar. Instead of bringing in a free agent quarterback -- as the New Orleans Saints did with Brian Brohm during their workout with Moss last week -- the 49ers are taking advantage of Harbaugh's quarterbacking past.

per Matt Maiocco (@MaioccoCSN):

The Randy Moss workout lasted 15 minutes. (Or maybe Jim Harbaugh's arm lasted 15 minutes.) They go inside 49ers building to chat.
