Randy Moss Value (1 Viewer)

I realize there has been a lot of talk about Moss since his eruption Week 1, but i have not seen what people think his comparative value may be going forward. Does he belong in the upper echelon of Wideouts or does he present to much risk week in and week out - Whether with nagging injuries or the Patriots spread offence?

I seem to think he will keep the performance level at the current level. Obviously not quite as good as Week 1 but certainly Top 10 wideout material every week potential.

Let's discuss.

Injury risk and gameplanning downside versus freakish upside. You're buying a volatile stock, but I'd valuate him somewhere below Javon Walker and above Donald Driver.

He has Brady throwing to him and should put up some pretty decent numbers every week. I imagine that just about everyone that owns him loves him as their WR2/3

i'd bet big money on a top 10 finish this year...with a 50/50 shot at top 5

he's not that far removed from being the best in the game, let's not forget that.

Week 1 was such a rediculous surprise, but it concerns me that the patriots have so many offensive weapons that some weeks, they won't even need him, or worse, use him as a ploy to take double coverage. this woulds open up welker and stallworth and watson, etc.

top 10 barring injury. it only takes 5-6 receps a game for him to ge there, too...which with Brady only means 7-8 targets a game which he'll easily see.

He had 9 targets and 9 catches, I believe. If he can get 8-10 targets per game, he'll be top 10 I think. Given, he won't always catch 100% of the passes thrown his way, but what we didn't see is him giving up on plays or lollie gagging around. I think he's motivated to win a title, and he's still got something left in the tank. I don't see Maroney as a 20-25 carrie guy, so they'll likely throw even if they're up, which they did week 1.

I say top 10 is very reachable. I've got him as my #2 WR, and he's not going anywhere unless I get a really good offer. I just hope the Pats don't have the bye wrapped up by playoff time...which they probably won't with the number of solid teams in the AFC.
