Randy Moss (1 Viewer)

I think a bigger ouch goes to anybody holding on to Moss waiting to see if Oakland can get an offense together.
Just so we're clear here, through two games the Raiders are averaging 129 yards passing (not including sacks) per game (258 total passing yards). Last year Raiders QBs threw for nearly 243 yards per game. The low water mark in the NFL (32nd in passing yards per game) for the past four years:2005: San Fran 137 yards passing per game2004: Baltimore 160 yards passing per game2003: Baltimore 157 yards passing per game 2002: Houston 165 yards passing per gameThere is nowhere to go but up for the Raiders passing game and Moss. Nothing wrong with dealing him but your timing couldn't have been worse.
I certainly wasn't looking for debate about my trade, but you are forgetting why I got rid of him in the first place. Mushin, Stallworth (drafted really late before he went to philly :pickle: ), TJ, and FA pickup Colston make my WR just fine, tough choices when TJ comes back. I needed RB help considering Foster is only heading down in value and Tiki won't get many goalline looks. I have about 3 backups that produce minimally and are not worth a start until their counterparts get injured. Also didn't get any of my own handcuffs either. I only needed alex smith for one game. Moss will produce some decent games this season, but "starting my stud" would have been dicey at best each week. I see a really bad O-line playing in Oakland and they have no QB worth starting IMO.Was it a bit early? No. Even with their upcoming easy schedule. Those teams are watching film right now and figuring out the same thing I watched in both games. The O-line in Oakland is bad, perhaps worse than anyother team in the NFL. They cannot run the ball. Moss is only real honest to god asset on the team. Double him & blitz at least one guy everydown & you win. Quite simple really.Could I have gotten more for him? Probably. However, getting 2 rb's drafted in the 4th & 8th rounds, only team in league "heavy" with RB options....It just makes sense.Moss had to go.

Sold! Randy is gone - dealt him and another bum (T henry) for Mike Bell, M Barber and I Bruce. I had to throw in a decent amount of cap money for next year but I had some to spare and Bell/Barber are good keepers.

Wish I could have rode it out but I also have Lamont so I needed some RB help ASAP and the was no way I would ever play 2 guys from that horrible team!!!
With any preparation at all for your draft, couldn't you have come to that conclusion before picking both?!?!? I drafted Moss at 3.03 in a 12-teamer and he's my WR2 behind Holt, but I would never have drafted him and Jordan.

It's one thing to wish you drafted Chester Taylor or Frank Gore or Donte Stallworth, etc. over R. Moss.

It's quite another to trade him for any borderline free agent dregs that have been named in this thread. He may "bust" to the tune of 700 yards and 6 TDs, but it's just plain stupid not to hold onto him unless you get some good value in return.

You can pick up half the crap mentioned in trades here for free.

Honestly I didn't think Oak would be this bad - I had Lamont as a keeper and Moss just fell to me. I thought it was too good of value to pass up - I was wrong. I'm happy I got what I did for him!Luckily I still have Steve Smith (if he ever comes back), S Moss, D Jax and now I Bruce - I shored up my RBs and still have solid WR IMO. I won't miss Randy at all

He played some tough D's. I'd be more worried about Jordan than I would Moss. I have feeling Oakland is going to be throwing a ton this year. Also Brooks being out is a blessing and Oakland's schedule is going to get a little easier going forward. DO NOT GET ME WRONG Moss is no longer a #1 WR but selling him now is ridiculous. The guy is still going to get 1000 and 8. It may come in four games but its going to happen. If you sell now you are going to get ripped.

Kevan Barlow for Moss. Come on this is ridiculous. People that play ff with their little brother don't get an opinion. :football:

I'm about to trade either S. Jax or F. Gore and Moss for LaMont Jordan and T. Holt. I'm horribly thin at WR in a league where you have to start 3 and get a pt. per reception. I'm pretty solid at RB with Gore, SJax and Rudi Johnson so I think I can deal with having LaMont for a bye week filler.

My other receivers are Burress,R. Smith, L. Evans and M. Jenkins so you can see why I'm desperate for WR help.

I hope this thread gets bumped after wk5. Walter playing is a blessing in disguse. He has a big arm. No he is not a top 10 QB, especially behind an overrated Gallery line, but he will definitely not stand back in the pocket and take a 50 step drop and freeze like Aaron Brooks. For those of you that watched Brooks this year you know exactly what I am talking about.

Baltimore's D is awesome this year and SDG's D looks great too. Therefore I am assuming things should get easier. Assuming this I think if you can get Moss cheap so for a low end WR2 I think you would have to do it.

You will be sorry for trading him...

Just watched the Short Cuts on the Ticket and Andrew Walter missed him wide open in the end zone and had him for another long gain but McCallister held.

Moss will make a solid/spectacular play over the next 4 weeks.

Honestly? I expected more out of this thread ADN of the people I see here talking about trading him for garbage RBs...

JMHO-GL!

I think footballguys boards are filled with panic and fear recently.

I'm Looking at Moss and Driver for Holt. I was down on Holt until I saw his targets, now I'm not sure. I just don't like him in the new Ram system.

You've just shown us the Raiders offense is on pace to become the worst aerial assault of all time and you expect us to BUY Randy?Who on the Niners last year was worth a hoot? Lloyd? Battle? :X
San Fran , Hou, Bal in those years, with those teams the only good WR talent was maybe Lloyd, Moss and Porter-- if he ever comes back are much more talented, I mean they faced SD who ran 40+ times controlling the clock and The freaking Ravens, it's all upside there !!! Pick up Moss and get Brooks while you're at it !!!

I've offered D. Foster for Moss straight up. Moss owner has D. Williams. Moss owner had Moss "On The Block" in our CBS redraft league. We'll see if he bites...

I just peddled Moss for Gado & Mason. I had terms for Gado & Glen, but Glenn's big week (& TO beingout) caused him to stay home.

I have injury prone RBs (Westbrook/Ahman) and would need to play 2 WRs from Bennett/Williamson/Javon/Mason.

I figure playing matchup will be better than relying on Moss inconsistency...and Gado shouldhave the Houston job any day now.

Been a weird year and people overreact. Although every year you hear people saying how weird it is.But how often do you have so many question marks at RB? Moss owners with RB inconsistencies seem to be looking to deal Moss for any RB, maybe even another question mark RB.

Sold a few days ago, before S Smith returned to practice

14 Team - Redraft

Sold: R Moss / C Dillon / Mi Clayton (TB)

Bought: Willis M / S Smith

Was looking to get a 20 carry guy to go w/ Portis and targeted Willis. Then the owner tells me he's interested in Moss (evidently nervous about Smith). Very lucky for me that Smith is back sooner than expected, but he still needs to stay on the field and produce.

I'd sell Moss if you can get decent value @ this point. Maybe after he's past the bye week, he'll be a little more attractive to trade. Yea, he'll have a couple 130 yd / 1-2 td games, but also a lot of 40 yd / nada games which will lose you more games than he helps win.

Not a knock on Moss, but damn, OAK just brought in Tommy Maddox for a look - after Jeff George... I don't think any QB could produce behind that line and w/ that OC. Mabye Vick if he ran 20x a game, but then Moss' value would be gone.

Man, you screwed that guy.Smith>MossWillis>Dillon+ClaytonDont know that the other guy was thinkin....good job

Any new thoughts on Moss? I'm thinking of buying him now. His owner is hurting for RBs, and I have some solid depth there. Thinking of trading Foster/DWilliams combo for him. What's his value like now with Walter as compared to Brooks? Is he worth picking up as a WR2 or WR3? Currently have TO and Plax, so I can use all the help I can get.

Not much insight here but I just bought him "low"..... I hope it works out.

Sold Julius and MB3 for Moss and Deshaun

I think the first two opponents were a major reason why OAK has been so bad (SD, BAL). Brooks is out at least another week or so but when he comes back I still see no reason why he won't air it out... especially if OAK is losing all the time. I'm fine with some trash points.

I tried buying him last week as a throw in on a WR for QB swap - I'd have sent any one of Bennett, Galloway or Mason plus McNair for C-Pepp plus RMoss.

Owner scoffed at me - said for him to trade away Moss, he needed a WR1 in return since he drafted RMoss as his WR1.

How's that for faulty reasoning.

I'd look elsewhere for WR2. WR3 he's still decent, but will be unpredictable at best. Nice points one week then disappears for 2 wks.And I think paying Foster/DWill is waaaay too much. At least till OAK shows it can actually move the chains. Not to AC this, but if I were you, I'd try combo'ing Plax and Foster for Fitz/Holt/SSmith types. Or find a couple of up-n-comers (G Jennings/Bryant/Braylon)

Looking into buying Moss

I am offering Deuce straight up (he is a Bush owner)

He wants me to add Troy Williamson.

I would like Moss as he would slot as my WR3 right now behind Wayne and Driver

Can't believe Williamson could be a deal breaker for me

Williamson might finish the year with more catches. In a PPR, I am not sure I'd make the trade.

I think Moss will end up with similar yards and TD - but has potential to be higher in both catcegories than Williamson.

.5 per receptionProblem with Willamson, is every week I am faced with starting him or Keyshawn as my #3(went with Keyshawn this weekend) If I have Moss, then I will start Moss as my #3, and if it gets really bad in Oakland, Keyshawn becomes my #3.I really do think Moss will end up with a decen year.and more importantly, I like his Playoff schedule Dec 10 @Cincinnati 1:00pm Dec 17 St. Louis 4:15pm Dec 23 Kansas City 8:00pm

Last week (after week 2) I offered RMoss and JJones for Fitzgerald. Other owner says he's standing pat for now. Both Moss and Jones were on a bye week 3 so that didn't help me move them.

Trade Dominator after week 2 said I got the slightly better end of the deal by about 7%, but it was close. Due to depth at RB I don't really need JJones so it was in essence RMoss for Fitz in my eyes.
