Randy Moss (1 Viewer)

Mortenson was speaking this morning that Favre is wanting to bring Moss to GB and there have been talks between the 2 teams. Mortenson said that the price Davis would be asking for was a #3 this year. He said Thompson was definetly interested in Moss and also the Raiders might be interested in a young wr. This was said on Sunday Morning Countdown.
Welcome to Green Bay Randy Moss!!!!!!A big  if this happens. Then he can moon the Minnesota fans this coming season! :wall:

Even an older Favre and a mildly disinterested Moss is a match made in heaven. No one will throw it up for grabs better than Favre and no one will catch that throw better than Moss.

The Moss to Green Bay rumors almost seem too good to be true. It would be a shame to see Moss get bailed out after a multi-year run that really showed just how selfish and reprehensible a person/teammate he really is.

Favre has history with reclamation projects, too. Andre Rison was a key part of their SB run after wearing out his welcome at several stops.

Let me hear from Raider fans what they think the Raiders would trade him for? Has Moss's value dropped down far enough to only get a third round pick for him? I'm a dynasty owners of his and want him out of Oakland in the worst way. I think he would look great in GB or NE. I think NE is a pipe dream personally but I think GB could happen. A third round pick could be a steal for Moss's talent, do you think that is all it would take?
Why do you think GB could happen? Ted Thompson, by his action, is building his own team through the draft. The fans hate Moss and do not want to see him play for GB. What could Moss offer the youngest team in the NFL except a bad example. Moss will not be going to GB. How about Moss to Dallas and have a tandum of Owens and Moss.
I have also heard rumors of him involved in a trade to GB, and Favre has also given it a blessing.

The Bucs are the latest team to be connected to Randy Moss in trade rumors.

His salary would be very tough for Tampa to swallow. We think that is the main factor holding up any Moss trade, although we'll hear plenty up until the draft.

I'd be mildly surprised if he gets traded. I think it's fairly obvious Randy Moss will eventually be cut if he can't be traded, because Oakland would be foolish to pay a non-contributing lockerroom cancer his ungodly salary. So, why should any team trade for him when they can sign him to their terms as a FA? There's little benefit. I can't imagine a team would be competing against more than 2 other teams to sign him if he was a free agent.

I think there would be more interest than that. I still think he gets traded for a third, to who I have no clue.

Really? Hmmm. Respectfully disagree. First off, if you aren't playoff bound, don't bother, because he's a horrible pickup for a struggling team. That excludes 2/3 of teams, maybe 3/4. Second off, if you are playoff bound, you may be risking that by taking on a known malcontent who won't block, may quit, and demands special treatment. I'd guess most teams will not be willing to risk their chemistry over this guy. We'll see. If he gets released, there's your answer on the demand for this guy.

Boy, i think his value has gone down, but not that far.
I agree. If a team like the Patriots got him, he would be playing hard. he is a little like Dillon who just wants to win and when he is on a losing team he gets disinterested. A team that is close would be great for Randy. I also think he would do very well on a team with a great offense (even if the defense was not that good). I think he would be great in SD, NE and Indy. he probably would enjoy being with TO in Dallas  Imagine the TO and Moss with Glenn in the slot; Romo would have a woody.

And the coaching staff would put on their Nike shoes and kill themselves by week 5.

I think that Oakland could get the most value for Moss from the Chargers...

I bet San Diego would give up a first round pick and a second round pick for Moss...he would be a perfect fit in SD and would also be the player that takes them over the top...

yeah I know that SD is in the same division and Al would never do that, but if he wanted to get the most bang for his buck he should look toward SD....jmo

It may be better for San Diego to give Oakland a 1st and 2nd round pick to KEEP Moss.

What about the Moss to New England rumors we have been hearing about? It makes a lot more sense than Moss going to GB. Just about the only position in GB that does not need help is at wr.IF (and it's a big IF) Moss can save his career New England is the place. Guys like Bellichick,Brady + Bruschi (just to name a few) will not put up with his nonsense. Plus, NE offers him a chance to win a Superbowl. NE seems to me just about the only place Moss has a chance to turn himself around.

They say the rumors are just that. NO communication, I repeat NO communication has been made between the two teams so its just speculation. Before this season, if you asked me 1 team Moss would NEVER be on, I would have said the Pats.

There is one advantage to trading for a player. You don't have to renegotiae their existing contract, and the Signing Bonus is someone else's responsibility. That means you can cut them if things don't work out with no cap penalty. For someone like Moss or Owens, a trade is the only way I would take on their baggage. It gives you an easy and painless out if things go poorly. Also, I don't have the numbers, but Moss isn't going anywhere until after June 1st due to cap hit the Raiders would take if they cut him now.

That's an old rule. You can cut players before then, and still spread the hit over two years. That's why the Hawks didn't have to wait to cut Wistrom.
