How?The Bengals would be hard pressed to make my top 12 at this point. They don't have a defense, which is pretty important.
Thats fair...Who would you insert into the top 10? Give me your list...
SF, you know a team that is 2-0 but in your bottom feeders somehow.
I know...I'm still not sold on them at all. They have played two crappy teams....I don't care what their record is to this point...WHO ARE YOUR BOTTOM FEEDERS/TOP 10? I WANT YOUR LISTS PEOPLE...So that I can adjust mine accordingly

San Fran at 23, but Seattle at 10?!? I can see where SEA is above SF, but not by that much. How is an undeafeted team in the bottom 10?

In order to be fair, I should post my top 10 so I can also be mocked and ridiculed:

1-NE

2-IND

3-PIT

4-DAL

5-CHI

6-DEN

7-SD

8-BAL

9-CIN (I can't think of who else could be ranked above them....maybe Cleveland?)

10-TEN

On a side note, how weak does the NFC West & South look? Not a single contender in the group right now, IMO. The supposed best team out of the South (NO) is currently 0-2 and the best in the West (SEA) is 1-1.

What is surprising to me is the amount of people who still have the Chargers at 3 after a shoestring win over the Bears and getting blown out by the Pats. (I am guilty as well)

I think it's a testiment to just how much better the Pats/Colts are than the rest of the league right now. I really think those two squads are head and shoulders ahead of everyone else with the pats a not-insignificant amount over the Colts.

1. New England - Clearly the best team on paper right now.

2. Indianapolis - Not much to say here.

3. San Diego - Can't drop them any lower than three until we see them against some weaker competition.

4. Dallas - IMO this team is freakin' good. Romo is the real deal and that offense is a juggernaut. Defense will be good when it gets Newman back. Chicago game will be very interesting.

5. Pittsburgh - They haven't played anyone, but they're dominating all the same. They look more like the 2005 champs then the 2006 version.

6. Chicago - Some definite offensive issues, but they're still near the top.

7. Baltimore - I think the offensive issues can be worked out here. Too much talent not to be fairly high.

8. Denver - Not sure what to make of them yet, but they're 2-0 and Shanahan teams are generally mediocre at worst.

9. Philadelphia - Notoriously slow starter with two close losses. They will get healthy and make the playoffs IMO.

10. Green Bay - Awfully good start. If they can find a running back they could be a force.

I still think the Chargers are adjusting to a new coaching staff. I would bet a Pats/Chargers game later in the season in SD could have much different results. At this point though, as much as it pains me to admit it, the Pats have to be considered the #1 team in the NFL. However i dont think they cover the 17 point spead against the Bills this week.

The main problem I have with Pitt. is who they've played.CleBuf:headbang:
Yet you have Broncos 8, and they were less than a second from losing to the Bills, and an inch of upright from losing to the Raiders in Denver.
I have Pitt. ahead of Den., no?
Yes, i guess i just singled you out for having Denver in the top 10, i just dont see it.
I can understand that, they haven't looked overwhelming, but they have found a way to win. :headbang:

Denver's a tough one right now. But they dominated yardage in both games, they are 2-0, and they've been one of the most consistently successful franchises in the NFL under Shanahan. They have question marks, but so does everyone outside of Foxboro.

Denver is #1 in yards per game and #2 in yards allowed per game. The only other team that can make a similar claim is New England (which is #2 in yards per game and #1 in yards allowed per game), and Denver still has a better yardage differential by 32. They've given up 125 net passing yards in 130 minutes of football, or less than 1 yard per minute. They're 3rd in the league in sacks and 7th in the league in INTs, and have a great coach with a history of success. So far, they've been plagued by some bad misses by their kicker, who is perhaps the best in NFL history, as well as some fluke, unlikely-to-happen-again-all-season plays on special teams (a successful onsides kick and a 76 yard punt return), as well as an INT-return TD of a tipped pass. I can understand not putting them in the top 5, but outside of the top 10? That's a bit of a stretch, if you ask me.Edit: Also, Shanahan's 5-1 against Belichick and Brady, with his one loss coming by 4 points in a game where he started his 3rd string QB (Danny Freaking Kanell). If there's anyone in a position to take down New England this year, it's Denver.

I agree with everyones assesment of Cotls/Pats in any order at 1and 2.

Yes I'm a homer. But this Steelers team is stacked with talent on both sides of the ball, and focused on special teams in the offseason, and then picked up Rossum, so the dropsys should be gone. I dont think the Chargers deserve to be ahead of them at this point.

Yes they played the browns and Bills, but they spanked them as a good team should. Steelers have scored 60 points and allowed 10. Havent allowed a 100 yard rusher since 05, and the new passing game is looking legit.
