rank these pitchers (1 Viewer)

6 win, -2loss, 1inning, 1k, -1 every 2hits, -1 every 3bb's, -1 every 2er's.

Baker

Slowey

Maholm

Volstad

Kershaw
SloweyBaker

Kershaw

Maholm

Volstad
:goodposting: volstad is really good
 He's not bad, but in my opinion, Volstad is clearly five of five on this particular list. Don't be fooled by his numbers over his first 100 IP...He walks alot of hitters and doesn't strike out enough to be discussed with the others (except possibly Maholm).

Edited to add: My rankings are based on the 2009 season...I think Volstad will develop moving forward (whereas Maholm doesn't have much upside), and will be a very productive big league pitcher. He's just going to have to endure some growing pains first)

This scoring system HEAVILY favors strikeout pitchers. The negative points won't add up very fast, but 1 point per K will.I would rank them:Kershaw - Dream scoring system for him. The gems will outweigh the beatings.Slowey - Would be the best on this list in most formats.Volstad - K rate is improving.Baker - I know it's early, but 7 HR in 8.2 IP is ridiculously bad.Maholm - Awful scoring system for him. Everything he does well is undervalued.

Yeah, a little. I currently have Baker and Kershaw and was hoping there was a pitcher definately better then 1 of those so I would have the opp. to pick up Smoltz and put him on the DL. (We have to drop a player at the position to pick up another player at that position)Another thing that makes it more difficult is that Baker goes twice this week, although that doesn't mean much considering how he's pitched.I guess, I'll wait 1 more week and see if they both still suck and hope that Smoltz isn't grabbed next weekend.

I pretty much agree with this, but take Kershaw down a notch for this season and rasie baker a notch because of last season:SloweyKershawBaker/VolstadMaholm
