For redrafts owners trying to find the late lightening in a bottle, which of these guys (or others that I didn't think of) are waiver that have the best shot to do something?

** Updating based on comments. **

1. Ron Dayne - Latest: Very good production! Ahman's status?

Positives: Has exploded 2nd half before.

Issues: Echemendu and Green. Has shown his limits many times. Boom or bust type.

2. Mo Morris - Latest: Performed relatively well Monday night. Should be solid with S-Alex out.

Positives: Should be the starter now on a somewhat potent offense. Good schedule.

Issues: We saw how this (didn't) work last year. Bad Oline. Alexander could return.

3. Chris Brown - Latest: LenDale got dinged and Brown may have been dropped.

Positives: Has proven serious upside on a VERY strong running team.

Issues: Chris Henry, LenDale will compete. He gets injured as quick as anyone.

4. Aaron Stecker - Latest: A TD and more with Bush hurting.

Positives: Should get improved play if Bush's injury is recurrent/worse than sounds. Great offense.

Issues: Bush gets the lion's share when healthy, but could do much worse.

5. Ricky "Puff Puff" Williams - Reinstated by the NFL, was once of course a top 8 RB.

Positives: Uber-upside, though it's been years... a known high talent. They may want to find out what they have in him with nothing to play for.

Issues: Seemingly hasn't earned much; team isn't playing for anything, so they may not rewards year of flakiness.

6. Rueben Droughns - Latest: Got TD and 4 touches with Ward out...

Positives: Goalline time and reps if either of the other oft-nicked up RBs go down.

Issues: Lots of competition that is better than he is. Seems to be 3rd on the list, though the offense likes to use two.

7. Greg Jones - Latest: 2 TDs - 1 rec and 1 run.

Positives: Big time goal line threat. That's worth something with the scraps on the wire.

Issues: Nothing but occasional goal line...

8. Michael Pittman - Latest: BYE week - we'll find out in week 11...

Positives: Run oriented attack. Was successful in it before getting hurt.

Issues - Lots of competition with seemingly higher upsides. Limited usage is most likely.

9. A-Train (or potentially Wright) - Latest: With Lynch missing Wednesday's practice with a "severe" ankle sprain, it's looking good (at least short term) for the train...

Positives: Has been a serviceable start before with good production. The Bills are playing decent with Loserman back.

Issues: Lynch will be back, and could be sooner than later. Train would compete with Wright for time.

10. T.J. Duckett - Latest: Healthy Kevin Jones leaves little left over...

Positives: Could be the man in a good running game if Jones goes down (which he often has).

Issues: Low upside with Jones healthy.

11. Michael Bush - Not activated, but with only Fargas playing he has upside.

Positives: A higher upside as the unknown high talent.

Issues: LaMont still around, Fargas should be locking up time. Unknown. Injury lingering. Untested/Unproven.

12. Joe Echemendu - Update: Barely got action in the week 10 Dayne show.

Positives: Unknown, looked good in limited action. Unlike Dayne, they may want to find out what they have in him for the future.

Issues: Unknown. Competition in the offense.

13. Kolby Smith - Extremely sparse action; didn't do anything great.

Positives: Upside young guy. Will share, but should be promised some action against some bad run Ds.

Issues: Priest. Wouldn't he have gotten time if he was good?! Then again, would they have let Bennett go if they had no hope?! Totally unknown. Oline and offense suck.

14. Brandon Jackson - Update: Sparse action behind effective Grant.

Positives: Could become the starter *if*Grant gets hurt.

Issues: Grant, Morency, Not a great running team, didn't show much to start off.

15. Vernand Morency - Latest: Looking like 3rd down back AT BEST.

Positives: Has been a pretty decent runner at times. Hasn't gotten a real shot yet due to injuries.

Issues - May just be the 3rd down back (limited upside). Injuries (aplenty). Competition. Limited upside running offense.

16. Samkon Gado - Latest: Didn't get a single play week 10.

Positives: Like Dayne, he's done it before. Great running offense. Limited competition - Chatman far from proven.

Issues - Not starter. Lets face it: Houston dropped him for a reason (and kept Dayne). Team may be behind a lot and throwing. Passing game much, much weaker.

17. Musa Smith - Latest: Nothing; McGahee back to healthy...

Positives: The best backup to own in a backfield that has brought McGahee solid production.

Issues: Splits backup time with Anderson. Healthy McGahee means not much for either. OLine/Offense has had problems.

* Pierre Thomas - Loooong shot.

Just looking to start a discussion since I know a lot of us are looking for some RB depth with all of the casualties this year.

For the remainder of the year - Duckett. If KJones goes down, he should get 15-20 carries a game + the GL looks. The rest are committee backs at best in any scenario. I would have said Musa, but I think Anderson is back in the picture after being AWOL earlier in the year.

You added Momo - I think I like him as the guy with the best chance to have flex level value for the stretch run

Watch for MiBush (esp dynasty leagues)..eventually it's going to be the Jamarcas and Mi.Bush show.

I like Pittman as a sneaky play, esp in PPR. They run a ton and have a weak Playoff schedule.

Watch for Joe Echemendu and Chester Taylor if they are available as possible guys with upside if they start getting starter carries for whatever reason.

brandon jackson will be starting after a dinged up overachieving ryan grant continues to show his true colors and lays a goose egg vs the vikes tomorrow

Of the list, I like Dayne. He's produced big-time in that offense already. His only competition for touches is old, injured, and ineffective (the lethal trifecta). Plus, Houston is coached by Gary Kubiak, and we KNOW he's never going to abandon the run. Ever.

In short, Dayne's the only guy who I think could actually be a spot starter, even if the guy ahead of him never gets lost for the season.

Dayne was huge for me last year. Huge.

 Granted this prediction didn't work out but it wasn't a bad prediction by any means. Most, if not all, thought the same thing before the game was played.

I really believe Grant will be a VERY solid RB2 with that schedule coming down the stretch. Dude can run and ALWAYS falls forward.

Well, with AP now out indefinitely this thread is gaining in importance. Please add names and thoughts and I'll continue to update the list.

Thanks all!

guess i'm the only one who's ever been wrong about a prediction.

nothing like monday morning qbs!

I really believe Grant will be a VERY solid RB2 with that schedule coming down the stretch. Dude can run and ALWAYS falls forward.
LOLOL. who looks sillier? me who at least had the stones to make a bold prediction, or idiots like this who REALLY believes grant will be great hours after he had a breakout game.

kd1 - I applaud the prediction  No reason for anyone to rip on other's predictions. Ask what they based it on, point out faults in the logic, but rubbing things in is pretty weak. All that said, Grant could be Gado of two years ago, or he couldn't be... BUT, he's not on any waiver wires so lets not discuss it here!!

Idiots like me? Are you kidding? Show me where I said anything bad about you? I merely said Grant will be solid moving forward, not "you are an idiot, nice predicition moron." You made a bad prediction, why can't you just admit you were wrong? It happens. A breakout game? He had his breakout game....three weeks ago. He has had 280 yards and 12 receptions in the last three games. Then combine this with his schedule (see below) and you have yourself a player who could be a good RB2 moving forward. Also add in that GB has a very good defense, and an elite QB and solid receiving corps, and you start to realize that defenses are not able to stack the box with Jennings (deep threat), Driver (poss. receiver), and Lee (above ave. TE), meaning Grant should be able to run behind that improving OL. 11 Sun, Nov 18 Carolina 12 Thu, Nov 22 @ Detroit 13 Thu, Nov 29 @ Dallas 14 Sun, Dec 9 Oakland 15 Sun, Dec 16 @ St. Louis 16 Sun, Dec 23 @ Chicago 17 Sun, Dec 30 Detroit At least I waited to make a statement, one which is based on some analysis. You are just angry because you made a prediction that has proven to be way off for at least this one week. Who knows, Grant may not be great, but I am willing to bet that GB is for real, and they will feed him the ball, making him a solid fantasy RB.

i did say i was wrong. see above. i just dont see how somebody can make a prediction after a relative unknown busts out. seems silly.btw, i have a strong feeling that a certain ladanian tomlinson will have a strong final 7 games. and i also expect tom brady and peyton manning to finish the season well

So if someone makes a prediction that a relative unknown will enjoy success, that is wrong; but if someone makes a prediction indicating that a relative unkonwn will lay an egg, that's ok? Just don't get that, that's all.

He's only unknown if you don't know about him. Being in the NYC area and having seen every Giants pre-season game, I knew this kid was better than anything GB has on its roster. As soon as I saw him get an opportunity, I hurried up and snatched him for that very reason the minute he got traded. The only thing that could've possibly derailed him was to get stuck on the Giants bench behind some very good backs. There is no such competition in GB.

Did you post that info here??!! Dang it! I'm stuck with the MASH corps of AP and LJ....

Also with K.J. having soreness in his leg etc. does he wear done as the season progresses thus making Ducket/ Bell RB's of interest? Probably not that high on anyones radar yet.

I was thinking the same. With my pathetic RBs, I jpicked Ducket up this morning...My worry here is that the Lions, when not confident in their RB, are more than happy to just pass 96% of the time. If KJ can't go, that is my worry...

 I was just about to post it.Bills running back Marshawn Lynch missed practice Wednesday because of a severely sprained left ankle, and is unlikely to play Sunday night when Buffalo hosts the unbeaten New England Patriots. Stopping short of ruling out Lynch, coach **** Jauron said he was "not overly optimistic" the rookie would be able to play this weekend. He said Lynch, hurt in helping secure a 13-10 win at Miami last weekend, was still very sore. Jauron also said it's possible the injury could force Lynch to miss more than this weekend's game. Without going into details, he said trainers have informed him that the injury is more severe than a normal sprain, although tests Monday revealed no broken bones.

Of the list, I like Dayne. He's produced big-time in that offense already. His only competition for touches is old, injured, and ineffective (the lethal trifecta). Dayne was huge for me last year. Huge.
Dayne has always been huge...........

Mo Morris should be solid for several games but I doubt he or most of these guys are left in larger leagues.
