While I initially thought that Big Ben would be a must start vs the hapless colts (see post 2 below) digging a little deeper has me reconsidering.

Bloom seems to agree givng big ben the weekly qb 6 slot in his rankings. Bloom and Wimer/Bryant beg to differ/offer some different perspective.

Dodds has him listed at qb 14 (below my backup kevin kolb fwiw who has a cake matchup with SEA)

Wimer/Bryant has it rated a 4th tier 'TOUGH" matchup , in passing matchups (which is one of the best weekly features on this site IMHO)

Pittsburgh Steelers Passing Offense at Indianapolis Colts Passing Defense (Tough Matchup)

Roethlisberger suffered a scary-looking left leg injury vs. Seattle, and spent a lot of time on the ground before missing a snap. 'Pretty scary,' said Roethlisberger. 'Structurally, it felt fine. I didn't feel anything pop so that was the good thing about it. Then it was just a matter of playing through the pain.' Roethlisberger was walking with a slight limp after the game and will be evaluated further as the week goes along. 'I'll be fine and we'll get through it.' he asserted on Monday. Head coach Mike Tomlin said Roethlisberger is 'going to be fine,' on Tuesday, September 20th. The Steelers' starter put up 22/30 for 298 yards, one TD and zero interceptions vs. Seattle, preferring Mike Wallace (nine targets for 8/126/1 receiving) and Antonio Brown (six for 4/67/0) last week. Emmanuel Sanders (three for 2/44/0) and Hines Ward (six for 4/33/0) rounded out the top four receivers last week.Indianapolis is currently tenth in the NFL averaging 207 net passing yards allowed per game with two TDs allowed, two interceptions, and two sacks so far this year. Cleveland managed 22/32 for 197 net yards, one TD and zero interceptions passing last week.

Roethlisberger and company got well in week two, but they face a stiff pass D in week three - this looks like a tough assignment for the visiting Steelers.

Weather: Inside Lucas Oil Stadium, weather won't affect either team on Sunday night.

Please refer to the NFL's injury report for the latest injury news regarding your players.
anyone have any insight on this colts D, or am I just overthinking this?

Ben Roethlisberger: Ben Roethlisberger 'okay' after knee scareBen Roethlisberger - QB - PIT - Sep. 18 - 9:30 pm etEd Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette confirms that Ben Roethlisberger is "okay" after appearing to injure his knee in Week 2.

SI's Peter King also reported that Roethlisberger will start next Sunday night at Indianapolis. At worst, the injury might cost Big Ben some practice time. Off to a slow start in fantasy, Roethlisberger has completed 44-of-71 passes (62.0%) for 578 yards (8.14 YPA), two touchdowns, and three interceptions through two games. Conservative owners can consider him a QB2 in Week 3. Sep. 18 - 9:30 pm et

BTW this writer is insane if you think that Big Ben vs the hapless colts makes him a QB2 this week. I'll be starting big Ben with confidence here. ETA or is he... see post 1.

from espn blogs

The only time the Steelers had to sweat Sunday was late in the first half, when Roethlisberger was hit and rolled on the field in pain. A diving Raheem Brock hit the side of Roethlisberger's right knee.

Roethlisberger missed two plays before returning and playing the rest of the game. He took some hits in the second half behind a reworked offensive line and got up every time.

No one would know Roethlisberger took such a nasty jolt to the knee by watching him in the second half. He was an efficient 22-for-30 passing for 298 yards, even though he should have been picked off by Aaron Curry on the first play of the second quarter.

"It was scary," Roethlisberger said of taking that first-half hit. "Knees are nothing to play around with. Structurally, it felt fine. I didn't feel anything pop, so that was a good thing about it. Then it was just a matter of playing through the pain."

Tomlin did not list Roethlisberger in the injury report today in his press conference. Ben is fine and will play this week against the Colts.

:skocked:Unreal that this guy isn't on the injury report and J charles is out for the year from a NCI. When I saw Brock hit him I thought he was gonna be at least done for the day if not multiple games. Ben is a tough sonnofa#####.
