Greetings fellow kids!

Do me a solid & rate my team - leave a link & I'll do the same for you as time allows.  :hifive:

12 team local league, 1 PPR, .1/1 Ru/Rec, .05/1 PaYd, 6 Pts all TDs, -2 FL, -2 Int

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 O-FLX, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D/ST, 8 man bench

QB - Matt Ryan (Tyrod Taylor, but will grab whoever breaks out as a backup if TT sucks)

RB - Gurley/R.Freeman (Ingram(s)/Barber/Burkhead/L.Murray/Kelly)

WR - M.Evans/Tyreek the Freak/Thielen (Hogan/Cole/A.Jeffery)

TE -T.Burton (Seals-Jones)

O-FLX - currently Hogan, likely Ingram when he returns from suspension, but could be any of Burkhead, Barber, Cole or Jeffery as performance dictates

K - who cares

D/ST - Cowboys, but will be monitoring the WW for a breakout or play matchups.

Feeling pretty solid drafting out of the 1-spot - I knew my draft position for 10 days, so I mocked like crazy from the 1-spot. Must've mocked 50x there. This is the deepest team I've ever had - missed Adams by 1 pick (2.11) and Collins by 1 pick (4.11) but feel like I stole Thielen, Ingram, Hogan & Burton who all lasted longer than any mock I'd done

Please share your thoughts and a link to your team for me to rate!

Thanks in advance!

Drafting out of the one spot in a 12 team league isn't always easy.  You're great with the first pick.  Nobody will argue that Gurley isn't worthy even if some people prefer someone else.

I don't love Mike Evans.  Especially with Winston suspended the first four games, but your wide receivers are pretty deep.  They should do fine.

You have a whole lot of potential behind Gurley at RB, but not much certainty.  If you hit on Freeman and Barber, you will be solid.

I don't love your QB situation, but if you're going to let QB slide, that's what you're going to be dealing with.  It's all a crap shoot once you get that far down the line.

I think outside of QB you have a pretty high upside team, but if your players don't perform up to potential you could run into some problems.  Though I guess that could be said for any team.

I do like that in 4 weeks I get Ingram back. That he fell to me at 6.12 gave me a big feeling of relief since IMO he has similar if not more upside than R.Freeman. I missed Collins by 1 pick.  :wall:

Yep - I went QBFF and paid the price. Missed Rivers by 1 pick, too. Stafford was QB12 taken same round - as a backup in the 10th.

My league is finally wising up to my FF strategy - dude picked Stafford and immediately said, “let’s talk about a treads after the draft”  :hot:

i hate my friends sometimes.

Thanks very much for the feedback - appreciate your taking the time!

I'd give it an A-. Pretty solid but you really should have a second TE. Burton has looked good pre-season but I think Miller will be the top receiving play in Chicago and in the red zone.

I’ll grab one as one emerges. Every year I target 1 solid starter & pick up whoever is producing - usually have good results. I forgot to include Ricky Seals-Jones, who I did draft. But yeah - I’ll likely swap him with someone.

I have a feeling Burton will be top 5 this year - he’s been targeted a ton in the preseason including RZ.

I like Miller but I don’t think they make the splash worh Burton if they didn’t intend to feature him.

QB - Matt Ryan (Tyrod Taylor, but will grab whoever breaks out as a backup if TT sucks)

If Matt Ryan produces like 2 years ago, this will be the steal of the draft from a QB perspective. Sark will keep that lower though IMO, but you'll get good value. I'd expect conservatively QB9 for his floor. I usually go without a backup, but that's up to you.

RB - Gurley/R.Freeman (Ingram(s)/Barber/Burkhead/L.Murray/Kelly)

Gurley will obviously be great. If Freeman falters, you have Ingram or Burkehead to put into a spot after week 4. Barber can also go off. Great depth here! I'd even try to use some of your depth to trade up and get a stud if you want. Its almost to much depth.

WR - M.Evans/Tyreek the Freak/Thielen (Hogan/Cole/A.Jeffery)

With it being 1 PPR, Evans and Thielen will probably be your big gainers from it. You may experience a bunch of highs and lows versus the average with Evans and Tyreek.  Thielen will be your only consistent player with Hogan maybe. Regardless still great depth here.

TE -T.Burton (Seals-Jones)

Burton should see his targets, but this area will be your weakness if he doesn't perform. Survivable.

Final thoughts

I'd give this an A. Your a serious contender and can't believe the depth that you snuck away with. This is truly gifted drafting at the 1 spot.

That’s a really detailed analysis - thanks for taking the time.

The biggest gifts were Thielen (4.12/5.01), Ingram at 6.12/7.01 & possibly Burton at 8.12 I’d he performs.

I’ll peep yours now.

Update: I just traded Gilislee for Jameis Winston. I had such ridiculous depth at RB, and with Hill performing well & Michel getting healthy the Pats backfield is a mess. I have white in another league and trust him a lot more in that Deion Lewis mold.

Winston’s looked tremendous in the preseason, and I wanted an upside QB2 in case Ryan falters.

Plus now I get to free up a roster spot when I dump Taylor. Woohoo!  :hifive:
