I am not saying you are wrong. But it is pretty ironic that when I saw Tesla in the early 90's, they were opening for Poison.Anyone who lumps Tesla in with Ratt & Poison (especially Poison) really doesn't know what they are talking about and are stereotyping them. Poison is the poster child for big hair rock & to a degree Ratt is too. Tesla somehow gets associated with those bands since they all came out around the same time but Tesla is pretty much straight forward blue jeans hard rock.
That said I'll admit I like all these bands. Tesla however is more like AC/DC (no, not saying they are as good) in their image & that they are straight forward rock & never compromised.
Surprisingly, they've only toured together once.Tesla broke thru a little after the peak of hair metal.Anyone who lumps Tesla in with Ratt & Poison (especially Poison) really doesn't know what they are talking about and are stereotyping them. The Great White comparison is a good one.
If you don't like Ratt, then you don't like 80's hair metalNot true at all.Well, I don't. I think that's pretty clear. You're the one who hates Ratt - and pretty much ANY band, actor or movie. So i think it's safe to say that if YOU don't like something, then it's actually pretty damn good.GTFO. You're a Debbie Downer in EVERY thread. Jesus.Horrible
The album was awesome.Ratt's pretty terrible. Not my fault you have bad taste.
Don't you be messing around with Ratt. Or Tesla.
And Tesla is probably worse than Ratt. Just abysmal.

Agreed.80's Hair metal masterpiece.
Leppard sold out after Pyromania like not other band. Early Leppard was good solid rock. Later Leppard was pop music.I'm the biggest fan of any of these bands in the FFA. tesla belongs with def leppard and great white as groups that flirted with hairspray but were really rock all the time. That said, I've seen all three on bills with Poison and other hair bands.
Put me in the camp that still misses the show part of the Rock and roll show. Modern artists are lazy. These guys may have dressed like girls, but they played the same three chords as all the cool bands now and had lasers and fireworks and knew how to put on a show. I think it's funny how much people talk bad about hair metal and the music we've listened to since is really close to the same.
Fun is what's missing from concerts today. There's a lot of hate for Poison but to this day I've never seen a spectacle quite like the live shows during their prime and probably never will again.I'm the biggest fan of any of these bands in the FFA. tesla belongs with def leppard and great white as groups that flirted with hairspray but were really rock all the time. No doubt. High n' Dry is my favorite DL album. Pyromania was still good rock but after that it was a downward pop spiral.Leppard sold out after Pyromania like not other band. Early Leppard was good solid rock. Later Leppard was pop music.
Agree. They get lumped in with bands like Poison based on look alone despite staying the blues/rock course.Cinderella is another of those bands that is labeled as a hair band due to their look but was just a blues rock band.
You think Poison had a bigger stage show than Kiss or Alice Cooper?Fun is what's missing from concerts today. I never saw either of them during their prime. Kiss was a disappointment when I saw them in the 80's without makeup. Cooper was good live but it's creepy rather than what I'd consider 'fun'.You think Poison had a bigger stage show than Kiss or Alice Cooper?Fun is what's missing from concerts today. A later album of theirs was very bluesy - the one with Dead Man's Road. I was surprised at how good it was.Buzzbait said:Agree. I've seen Kiss four times and Poison at least a dozen. Both put on great shows. But By the time poison came on kiss was largely done as an act that was doing new songs. I love kiss, but no one is asking for the Michael Bolton penned "forever" at concerts.Buzzbait said:You think Poison had a bigger stage show than Kiss or Alice Cooper?cstu said:Fun is what's missing from concerts today. I don't think you can compare "old" Kiss to other acts. It doesn't seem like a relevant comparison to me. I've only seen Poison once and my thought was "Meh, they were OK." Their show certainly wasn't a spectacle. Love em or hate em but Kiss' act in their hey day was certainly a spectacle.I've seen Kiss four times and Poison at least a dozen. Both put on great shows. Never saw Warrant or Trixter. I saw Firehouse open for Tesla and the Bullet Boys once. The Bullet Boys put on a heck of a show. Marq Torien is a pretty good frontman.Fwiw, the most fun I ever had at a glam concert was a 1991 show with a Warrant headlining the Cherry Pie tour and Firehouse, Trixter, and Bullet Boys opening. Was awesome.
Maybe 92 or so.
