OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Baltimore Ravens have been ordered by the NFL to cancel their final offseason training camp because of a violation of workout rules.

Reacting to a complaint filed by the player's association against the Ravens, the league on Monday canceled the last week of Baltimore's organized team activities, scheduled for June 14-18.

According to the NFL, the Ravens "violated the rules concerning the intensity and tempo of drills conducted on the club's organized team activity days." The league also cited the Ravens for "the length of time spent by players at the team facility" on those days.

Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome says, "We made a mistake, and it won't happen again."

Ravens players will not be permitted at the team complex in Owings Mills next week, but will be paid for the sessions. The club cannot reschedule the canceled days.

That has to hurt, losing an entire week of work. I know it's still early but coaches like to get every possible minute out of guys now and they just lost an entire week.
