I read recently (Sporting News magazine) that Ray Lewis is no longer the Ravens' third down LB. Is this the case? If so, who will fill this role. This information is very important to me. Currently, Ray is on my protect list.

I find that hard to believe.

I do as well. The information was written in mid-May. The magazine characterized Ray as an aging LB who not capable of playing well for three downs.

The reviews so far of Ray in camp have been amazing. He added 10 pounds of muscle while dropping his body fat to 6%. Ray's dedicated and while he may not be the player he once was he's still better than 90% of the linebackers in the game.

I see no reason why he won't be a 3 down backer especially since the other backer position besides Scott's is in flux.
