That is actually a bit more than I expected him to get. He was pretty bad in San Fran last year. He had his worst year as a runner, and despite the volume, was a huge liability in the passing game, where he led all RB's in drops, and was as bad a blocker as any RB in the league. That said, he's likely an upgrade from Crowell.All I've seen is 3-year worth "more than $15M"... if it isn't much more than $15M, then it's probably similar to Latavius Murray's contract (given the increase in cap this year) which didn't stop the Vikings from drafting Cook last year. So Hyde's job might not be that safe. Kind of surprised he didn't get more, but I haven't seen any of the other contracts, either (Dion or Crowell).
I would hope the Browns give Duke Johnson more work, going on year 3 of him being he best RB on the team. Split carries 50-50, with Duke in the passing game and Hyde a the goal line.
