37 carries of Sunday and then a Thursday game would be tough on any RB, let alone a 32 year old one. Interesting to see what he has in the tank tonight.Need Arizona to beat Seattle tonight........I don't see it but maybe AP can turn back the clock.......
TJ Logan has never played an NFL down. I highly doubt the Cardinals put themselves in a Palmer or DJ activation position because of TJ Logan. You're correct; however, they would have to choose between Palmer or DJ. If Logan is activated DJ's chances of returning most likely diminish.
You’re right to a certain extent. However, with Drew Stanton at QB, the Cards could easily support two FF starters. And DJ would be very valuable to Stanton in the passing game.If Adrian Peterson keeps running this well, DJ is not going to come back to a 20+ touch role. I think expectations need to be tempered more so for to the play of AP than of concern he can't return from the injury
Beat Seattle onetime please!Pro football doc David Chao believes only 2 weeks of rehab after cast is off, Thanksgiving return possible (this was his estimate at the time of injury also but re affirmed with the cast off news

if you've held this long, you're kinda pot committed aren't you?Great news. Worth the risk to hold for another week to see his progress.
Original owner who drafted him dropped him last week. I just picked up him now to wait and see.if you've held this long, you're kinda pot committed aren't you?
I don't know if you are just wanting Seattle to lose in general or if you are meaning a win keeps the Cards with something to play for and increases the chances they would activate DJ but I'm with you: For the sake of keeping teams alive and playing, I'd like to see the Cards win tonight.Beat Seattle onetime please!
I think DJ will be physically able to play in a few weeks but it wil be up to the organization if they want to activate him. A win tonight and next week would go a long way to bringing him back.Shutout said:I don't know if you are just wanting Seattle to lose in general or if you are meaning a win keeps the Cards with something to play for and increases the chances they would activate DJ but I'm with you: For the sake of keeping teams alive and playing, I'd like to see the Cards win tonight.
It helps DJ's chances of playing in my humble opinion. I think they lose but we can always hope.Shutout said:I don't know if you are just wanting Seattle to lose in general or if you are meaning a win keeps the Cards with something to play for and increases the chances they would activate DJ but I'm with you: For the sake of keeping teams alive and playing, I'd like to see the Cards win tonight.
Organizations don't operate how some of you in here seem to think. If he's healthy enough to play, he'll play. What you're suggesting is a quick way to lose the team. Teams don't do it that way.I think DJ will be physically able to play in a few weeks but it wil be up to the organization if they want to activate him. As opposed to Odell Beckham? Mike Evans hasn't really been 1st round worthy. Play it safe and take Aaron Rodgers? All hyperbole aside (on my part) I was really looking forward to owning DJ this season. I picked him up on waivers during his rookie season, and he helped carry my team down the stretch. I've been a fan ever since.
I'm just really soured on the idea of drafting another RB in the first round going forward. You're right of course, in your above statement... no doubt. There's only a couple of RBs every year that can give you that kind of production. But, aside from one or two guys every half decade, getting those types of seasons consistently is a total crap-shoot. It all comes down to touchdowns and health, which seems to be the most variable in RBs.
Me too. And original owner just came crawling back looking to trade for him.johnnyboy8102 said:Original owner you drafted him dropped him last week. I just picked up him now to wait and see.
Robby Anderson OR Dion Lewis is about as high as I’ve seen.I'd trade him now but highly doubt anyone is giving up anything worth trading for.
Traded him for Fournette Wednesday. Keep-2 league-DJ is around 7% of the cap for ‘18 & ‘19. Fournette is around 22%, but can be kept till 2021.Robby Anderson OR Dion Lewis is about as high as I’ve seen.
Don’t play much in keeper or dynasty type leagues. But that seems like pretty good value especially if you are aiming to win this year.Traded him for Fournette Wednesday. Keep-2 league-DJ is around 7% of the cap for ‘18 & ‘19. Fournette is around 22%, but can be kept till 2021.
Made the trade b/c I thought he wasn’t coming back & wanted a shot this year; now worried I gave too much for what might be 3 games before he comes back.
Yeah, winning this year is my main focus, but want to have some pieces for future. Have L Bell (this is his last year), so wanted to maximize my shot this year. Having DJ for 1/3 of what top backs usually go for was nice, though.Don’t play much in keeper or dynasty type leagues. Fournette is a different player than DJ, but he’s no slouch and should continue to pound the rock for years to come as long as he shows up for team photos.
You won't get much pity with bell and DJ or fournette.Yeah, winning this year is my main focus, but want to have some pieces for future. Have L Bell (this is his last year), so wanted to maximize my shot this year. Having DJ for 1/3 of what top backs usually go for was nice, though.
Not looking for pity. It was the best trade I could get; I just hated trading DJ away. He (along with Bell) carried me to the championship last year. Fournette’s great, but it’s not the same as buying DJ cheap as a rookie, before my league mates realized his talent/ability, then riding his studliness to the title. It’s a bit of a glory play “I saw this coming before anyone else & it was a great play.”You won't get much pity with bell and DJ or fournette.
Man, I really hope this is the start of a return this year. Such a fun player to watch. The cast is officially off, folks. Next stop rehab.

Keep in my, he's been in a hard cast for 9 weeks now. Any range of motion should be a positive sign. How he responds to physical therapy should be huge, but there's nothing in that video that leads me (or medical experts on twitter, which feels like an oxymoron) to believe he definitely doesn't have a chance to suit up this season. That video does not make me feel better about his rehab. Still looks like he is in a cast, while not a hard one, his wrist is still in pretty bad shape. Wishing the best for him.
A lot of speculations, the coach says he’s not sure if DJ will be back and DJ says he’s determined to be back in spite of what the coach says. What's the deal with him? FBG says he could come back in week 12 or 13 and to blow 50%+ of remaining free agent budget but I haven't seen any other place that is that optimistic about his return.
You don't see the number one overall pick on waivers with a shot to play again too often either. You don't see FBG recommend 50%+ too often...
“The Johnson exhibited in a video he posted Monday is already enough to allow him to carry a football.”
Says the guy who cut him. He's done for the year. He's their star player, and they have almost no chance to make the playoffs. Since Arians isn't playing for his job, he has no incentive to play him. Get him healthy, and have him back next year when they don't have an O-line or QB and will need him to carry the whole team on his back.
Going to need a little proof on that one besides your gut feeling. He's done for the year. He's their star player, and they have almost no chance to make the playoffs. Well, the coach said he's not coming back...Going to need a little proof on that one besides your gut feeling.
Seriously you work for something for 6 months, torture your body and mind, then have an injury, then you work your body and mind for another 2 months to get healthy, then you don't want to play? No....
He is healthy. He does his rehab and is capable of playing, he is playing. These guys are not saving themselves for “next year”. If he wants to play and he can play he is going to play.
It is not about him "wanting" to play. It is about the owner of the team with a business interest and deciding how he wants to use his resources.Seriously you work for something for 6 months, torture your body and mind, then have an injury, then you work your body and mind for another 2 months to get healthy, then you don't want to play? I remember the Vikings shutting AP down too when they were out of playoff contention :/For those in the “if he’s healthy he’s playing” camp. I’ll wager $100 to the first person who is interested... if the Cards are out of the playoff race, my money says he will not return this season.
Actually, except for two weeks, they've had at least one (usually more than one) every week this season. You don't see FBG recommend 50%+ too often...
This is still funnyIt is not about him "wanting" to play. It is about the owner of the team with a business interest and deciding how he wants to use his resources.
Of course he wants to play but unless the cards have something to play for, why would they? if there are 3 outcomes to him playing, two are clearly bad; especially if he injured himself and it kept him out a part of next year. People would say why risk your most valuable asset when there is nothing to be gained? It is a legitimate question.
