RB D'Onta Foreman, CLE (1 Viewer)

He might be better than Ford. Whether he gets the carries or not, I don't know, but projections have him at about 6-7 points a game which indicates that somebody thinks he's going to get some type of run. Chubb's injury was very serious. They're not even talking about Week 1 with Chubb.

Wouldn't be surprised if Chubb missed 4-6 weeks and this guy has the hot hand a few weeks. He was fine last year. The guy is 236 lbs, I imagine he is their GL back until Chubb is ready to come back. Ford is 209 and Strong is 205. I don't think I need to paint you a picture on who's going to be in line to be vulturing those TDs.
Exactly all of this. And Foreman’s ADP is 237 right now. The ultimate sleeper no one is talking about for the 2024 season.

Foreman is the RB to own on the Browns this season, and he’s free.
When healthy this guy is a wrecking ball.

He seems to be left for dead always and then the next thing you know he goes on a 3-4 week tear...just when you need it due to some injury.

And with this defense, why wouldn't Stephaniski want to pound it?

Always keep my eye on this guy. He was money for me in spots last year.

Maybe I'm jaded but last year Foreman was third in snap share on the Chicago Bears RBs.

Roschon 34.7%
Herbert 31.7%
Foreman 23.6%

109 carries for 425, 11 catches on 16 tgts for 77-- 5TDs total

Meanwhile, Ford had a 50.7% snap share for the Browns last year (and if you're wondering, it was 41% in game 1 before Chubb got hurt).
204 for 813 with 63 targets/ 44 catches 319 for a total of 9TDs

Ford is going to be very serviceable, especially in PPR leagues for most of the year. He will cede some of the short yardage and GL work to Foreman but unless you're in a zero ppr league, I don't think Foreman will have much value. Chubb will probably be worked back in slowly from week 5-10 but Ford might simply inherit the old Hunt role putting Strong and Foreman as bench only.

Bah Humbug.

What's the latest on his injury?
All I read was he left the Seattle game in the second quarter with a rib injury

@camijustice

Kevin Stefanski said RB D'Onta Foreman won't practice tomorrow with a rib injury.

Ford was averaging 9 yards a carry, so obviously let's give Foreman twice as many (14 v 7) since he's averaging 3 yards a carry and your expensive QB the goal line td. I don't pretend to be an NFL coach but what the heck are the Browns doing here?

laugh reaction

Interesting for sure to see him getting carries over Ford right outta the gate yesterday. Could be a cheap (or free) sneaky pickup.

He won me some critical games last year. Underrated.

I thought he was done with a neck injury. Guess not.

Now he's screwing up my J. Ford's value.

Derek Brown
D'Onta Foreman could be a plug & play RB2 this week
(if he retains last week's role)

Week 2
59% snap rate on rushing plays
60% of the snaps in the RZ
(per @FantasyPtsData)

NYG has a bottom 5 Run D to exploit

NYG has allowed:
7th-highest explosive run rate
5th-most rushing yards per game
2nd-highest yards after contact/attempt & missed tackle rate

Got him last night. Going to be tempted to start him. He's their bruiser. Gotta think with this matchup and Watson looking like crud they lean on the run.

I hold him in one dynasty for occasions like this (for the past three or so years, anyway). But you have to ask yourself if 14-42 is enough to get the rock again. I mean, if he gets it then I don't have too little faith in him not to use him. It's if the staff thinks he is worthy of that.

That's the big call here, isn't it? How did he look last week? Was it enough to convince a staff to stick with an aging RB instead of Ford who is presumably still developing and went 7-34 or something like that?

That's tough. If I'm the coach I'm thinking long and hard about it.

I don't think the JAX run D is a pushover. 3 YPC isn't impressive, but getting 14 attempts is to me.

Ford was doing didly until he broke a long run. His stats would look terrible minus that run.

I don't know. Foreman has proved very useful in the past in these instances. Keeps being left for dead and then he runs off 3-4 games in row where he's productive and ends up winning you a game or two.

Fair enough about JAX.

And I totally agree with your comment that I quoted. I'm just wondering if this is one of those times. If I knew he'd get twelve-eighteen carries I'd have a no-brainer on my hands precisely for the reason you listed. I guess I'll have to read the tea leaves and coachspeak before I decide. But he's been a perfect Zero RB guy these past couple of years for stretches of time.
