RB Dylan Laube, LV (1 Viewer)

2023-9-12

🧵Plenty of buzz right now among scouts & agent community about @UNH_Football RB Dylan Laube (5100v, 203v) after his NCAA record 295-yard receiving game.

What’ll interest NFL teams most is Laube’s versatility in pass game as sub-downs back who can motion out of backfield and be slot mismatch creator.

His ability to run detached routes & track ball downfield are impressive.

Dylan Laube is a RB prospect in the 2024 draft class. He scored an unofficial 9.20 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 142 out of 1765 RB from 1987 to 2024.

This guy is interesting. Small school, decent size, good strength, very good pass catcher, and a very weak depth chart to contend with. Not sure he has the interior running chops, but definitely can be a weapon of sort in the passing game.

Yeah I def think he could carve out a role as the 3rd down back & possibly contribute as a returner

Pretty basic one-cut and go as a runner, not elusive but good athletic profile

Definitely a good situation for him & off to a good start, he's already had a couple good days at TC

He was one of my late-round targets in deep rookie drafts or as a waiver pickup. He's a long shot, but there's a world where he is startable in PPR.

I’m in. He’s my hunch guy I bought into with all of my dynasty leagues this year.

What I am expecting and hoping to hit on is Jaleel McLaughlin from last year. As a rookie he’ll be sharing time, though Zeus and Mattison don’t scare me long term. Laube should at least get his shots on third down like McLaughlin where he gets flexible by a point.

Just like McLaughlin is being seen this year with a clear role for the Broncos, that’s where I hope where we are at this point next year for him.

So consider the return rule changes this year. It’s entirely possible he earns a role on that front and becomes flex worthy earlier in the season.

“Despite the offensive struggles, rookie running back Dylan Laube has quickly made a strong impression. He’s started to get reps with the first-team offense as a third-down running back and has also worked on special teams with the kick returners. The Raiders haven’t run the ball much in these padless practices, but Laube has looked smooth as a receiver. Pierce described him as “special” last week, and Getsy raved about him Monday.”

Laube is getting 1st team looks as our 3rd down back. I think he not only lands a spot on the 53 week one, but will play meaningful snaps down the stretch. He's the perfect compliment to Zeus.

He may even be a threat to Zeus. Temper everything until we see him against regular season bullets, but Laube has a poor man's McCaffrey profile. Probably not in year one, but if this guy is able to run between the tackles, he is exactly the type of RB modern offenses covet.

“The Raiders have put a lot on Dylan Laube’s plate. It’s not unusual to see him lined up in the backfield, the slot or out wide. They have handed him the ball, pitched it to him, thrown it to him on screens, intermediate routes and down the field.”

“[Dylan] Laube, the rookie out of New Hampshire had been getting work on third downs even before veteran backup Ameer Abdullah missed practice Friday. Zamir White and Alexander Mattison seem set atop the depth chart, but Laube thinks his skills as a receiver might create opportunities for him on third down.”

Laube is my top preseason watch. His skillset in the passing game is one of the best in this rookie class. One of the issues with that is the Raiders already have a really good chess piece in Bowers and I am not confident they have creativity and play design to maximize what Laube can do. If he proves he can run interior effectively he has a shot at gaining a share of the load as he is more multi-dimensional than anyone on the depth chart. He is a guy who could really standout this preseason and at minimum raise his value for dynasty players.

Really haven't heard what he's doing in camp, but has not shown a thing in preseason games.

Has not been the #1 KO return man. Everyone expects he makes the team, but I won't be shocked if he's cut.

Lots of reports here and elsewhere he's had a solid camp. He'll have a small role if any to start the season, but getting cut would be very surprising.

Can't make the club from the tub

He made the club.

But . . . you can't score touchdowns from the players' lounge

You need to be in uniform and active on game day.

This team is not exactly an offensive juggernaut. Mattison looks to be the best back in the team but they keep ramming Zamir against a wall for 2.5 ypc.

Which might mean this guy gets a shot later or it's not worth it even if he does.

Sincere McCormick was born to a 15 year mom named Precious. Grew up with a variety of living situations, at one time being homeless - living in Precious' car and taking showers at a construction site trailer (where his mom was a security guard.) Mom is now a Walmart manager with a side hustle cutting hair. Practice squad players make a little over $200K per year.

Laube now has 43 ST snaps and one on offense, vs the Steelers. Not happening this year, eh.

Nice 59-yard return and the absolute pine to go with it.

Antonio Pierce is a joke. I’m a Laube dynasty holder, but this has more to do with watching that clown try to run a ship. Adams isn’t the only guy to wonder about the Raiders and how they run things. Pierce is the kind of guy that makes you have a redshirt year just because.

That type of dude.
