RB Dylan Sampson, CLE (1 Viewer)

I couldn't find a thread for him, so I guess I'll start one.

I think Sampson is arguably the RB2 in this class, depending on what you want your RB to do. It kinda blows my mind that Henderson is ranked so much more highly than Sampson, when they are similar size/speed, and Sampson is the one who has proven he can handle a big workload and be the centerpiece of an offense.

Sampson had 258-1491-22 for the Vols this year and was the SEC Offensive Player of the Year. He split work with Jaylen Wright in 2023. He was also 1 of only 4 RBs in this class who had a 90+ PFF grade this season (Jeanty, Skattebo, and Martinez were the others) and has untapped upside as a pass catcher but wasn't used in that manner as its just not the offense the Vols run.

Sampson ran a 4.42 40, at 5-8 200, and doesn't turn 21 until after week 1. His comps have ranged from Reggie Bush to Tyrone Tracy. Personally, I like James Cook as a comp.

Based on where he's mocked (the 75-125 range) I think he may be the best RB value in this class. I think he should be going in round 2.

One of the things I really appreciate about Tennessee RB Dylan Sampson #6 is his line of scrimmage operation. He gives himself options staying square and reacting to quick flashes from the defense. His footwork and lateral agility are impressive

I'm in on Dylan Sampson as a day-two RB target. Great vision between the tackles, sets up his blocks well, smooth lateral cuts, has breakaway speed to hit big plays/bounce runs, and nose for the end zone (22 TDs in 2024).

Dylan Sampson is one of my favorite RB prospects in this years class. Wasn’t asked to catch the ball a lot at Tennessee but gives me shades of Austin Ekeler as a runner.
