3 Producers with talent behind them went down in week 2. Please post any relevant updates. McCoy, Pierre, Coffee, and T.Choice could all be hot plays in week 3.

WESTBROOK

Eagles coach Andy Reid indicated Sunday that he doesn't believe Brian Westbrook's right ankle sprain is serious.

Reid confirmed that it isn't a high ankle sprain, but Westbrook admitted to reporters afterward that he couldn't make cuts on the ankle. "It’s a little sore," Westbrook said. "I think I probably tweaked it a little bit." This is the same ankle Westbrook had surgically repaired this offseason, costing him most of training camp. He may be held out of practice all this week. BELL

Saints coach Sean Payton characterized Mike Bell's knee sprain as "slight" in his post-game press conference Sunday.

For what it's worth, Bell also said in post-game that he could've returned if needed. It's a concern for Bell's Week 3 status if he has a sprained MCL, as reported by Scout.com's Adam Caplan. Bell had 95 more total yards at Philly after racking up 143 in the opener, while Pierre Thomas barely played.

GORE

Beat writer Matt Maiocco reports that Frank Gore's right ankle sprain is not expected to threaten his status for Week 3.

X-rays likely came back negative, and Gore's injury didn't appear to be serious in the first place. After Sunday's brilliant effort, Gore is up to 294 total yards and four all-purpose touchdowns on the season. We haven't been this impressed with Gore's speed since his breakout 2006 season. He is rightfully the centerpiece of new 49ers coordinator Jimmy Raye's system.

BARBER

Marion Barber strained a quad muscle on a pivotal 35-yard run in the fourth quarter Sunday night and will not return.

Barber was headed for the end zone until he pulled up lame and immediately clutched his quad. Felix Jones promptly came in and finished off the drive with a seven-yard touchdown run. Although the severity is unknown, Barber's quad will almost certainly bother him throughout the upcoming week. He was having a big game, picking up 124 yards on 18 carries with one touchdown and adding two catches for 31 yards.

UPDATE II: Barber was seen sitting on the sideline sitting on his helmet while the Giants drove down the field for the game-winning field goal. Seemed encouraging. From profootballtalk.com

Mike Bell's knee sprain is not as bad as the Saints originally thought and he could be ready for a Week 3 matchup with the Bills.

Bell's injury is being called a knee sprain. It's worth noting that Pierre Thomas also had a knee sprain and that has kept him out much longer than expected. With Thomas getting closer to full strength, it's looking like this will be a timeshare even if Bell can go on Sunday.

New Orleans Saints running back Mike Bell says MRI negative

QUOTE

New Orleans Saints running back Mike Bell, who sprained his right knee in the fourth quarter Sunday against Philadelphia, said Monday that an MRI showed no structural damage.

Bell said he has full range of motion and hopes to play Sunday against Buffalo, but the decision is up to the team.

The injury is similar to the knee injury that sidelined running back Pierre Thomas for two preseason games and the first regular-season game, Bell said. Thomas played briefly Sunday.

"I always expect to play, but I'm not a doctor,'' Bell said. "I have to do what's best for myself, but most importantly, I have to do what's best for the team. It's a long season. We have more than enough capable running backs to get the job done. I think me missing a couple games is not going to hurt the team at all.''

"If I have to to miss a game, I don't think we're going to miss a beat. If anything, we're going to be better.''

Bell rushed Sunday for 87 yards on 17 carries and scored on a 7-yard run.

Dallas Morning News reports it is not believed to be serious.

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips indicated Monday that Marion Barber is day to day with his strained quadriceps.

It doesn't sound like a multi-week injury at this point, but Barber seems certain to be limited in practice leading up to a Week 3 matchup against Carolina. Expect Felix Jones to be used more this week even if Barber is active.

Well that is great news! I hope it heals up with treatment....but I have to believe at least out a week or 2...you just don;t go down like that without a semi serious strain.

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer confirms that Mike Bell's knee sprain isn't as serious as initially believed, but reports that Bell "probably" will miss Week 3.

This could open the door for Pierre Thomas to retake the Saints' lead back job, but he's going to have to practice well, then stay healthy and produce at Buffalo. The situation needs to be monitored all week. Bell is determined to keep his position and won't be ruled out until Friday at the earliest.

An MRI taken on Marion Barber's leg Monday confirmed that he has a quadriceps strain.

When asked if the injury could force Barber to miss some time, coach Wade Phillips said "we'll have to wait and see on that." The Barbarian does have an extra day to get ready this week as the Cowboys play on Monday night, but he's unlikely to rush it with very capable backups in Felix Jones and Tashard Choice ready to go. The Cowboys running backs have a very good matchup against the Panthers this week.

An MRI revealed that Mike Bell has a sprained MCL and that the running back does not have any structural damage.

Good news for Bell, but we still doubt he plays this week. This is the same injury that has kept Pierre Thomas out for nearly a month. The Saints aren't putting a timetable on Bell's recovery yet, but expect Thomas and Reggie Bush to share the load in Week 3.

This is what coach had to say:"The news of Bell's knee was positive," Payton said. "I really don't want to put a time frame on it. I really won't know that until Wednesday, but it's a lot less severe than we anticipated. I don't know what that does for his status this week, but it's only Monday right now. Again, the doctors feel pretty good about the nature of the injury.

Looks like we will know alot more come Wednesday afternoon
