RB Kenneth Walker III - SEA (2 Viewers)

Looks like he won't play so Charb big upgrade. Who becomes main backup now?

McIntosh
Ooh, he's on a TS of mine.
It's reported now that Seattle is taking extreme caution with Walkers injury. Could be a multi week thing. Sigh.
I didn't see that - who's reporting it?
@rapsheet though it's from 3rd party accounts like Sleeper and Underdog saying Rap said this. I don't see a tweet from Rap on it. Maybe it was a TV spot.

It was a TV spot, I heard it. Put my confidence down a little Walker would be back week 3 but it was a pretty soft report so I'm still holding out hope.
Yeah, and the fact is I’m all too familiar with oblique injuries from FBB.

When this 1st happened I mentioned they can be tricky.

Fingers crossed we get some positive updates from this week’s practice report. I wouldn’t be at all shocked if this were a 3-4 week thing. I’m just hoping it’s not.

Charb looks like he is running in mud. Really slow to the hole. That's what I saw during the entire game. posted very respectable numbers though.

Different RB than Walker. They win in different ways and will look different doing so. Zach is also 4" taller and build different than Walker. Walker is electric, quick and also has top speed (4.38 - 40).

I always liked Charbs and he's a good back up to Walker. He won't take Walkers spot but he's 100% worth having a true handcuff.

I might see if I can acquire some shares of Walker if owners are already feeling frustrated.

Question for everyone - is this oblique injury a one off or is ita result of his past hernia surgery? I don't think they linger or really cause issues down the road but maybe?

Aside from the TD, he totalled 67 yards on 19 touches. Not sure if NE defense is that good or maybe he's JAG.

Compared to Walker he's very slow. Seattle isn't really a good running team, so much as Walker is a really good RB in my opinion.
Yep. It's very clear and obvious who the more explosive of the two RBS is.
I agree that Walker is more explosive but let's not use that to say Charbs isn't good. Both can be good RBs with Walker being the lead guy.

Charbs was a good prospect coming out that SEA drafted in the 2nd round with a high pick. SEA has no problems going to Charbs when Walker is hurt. Great RB2 play or flex play if you own Charbs. Can help you week to week.

When Walker is healthy he is the lead guy. It is nice SEA can be patient with Walker and not rush him back as they have Charbs.

Can't speak for others, but I wasn't saying Charbonnet sucks or anything, just that Walker is WAY better. Its not a coincidence to me that Seattle was very run heavy Week 1 and pass heavy week 2. I don't think that was opponent based, I think that was personnel based. Walker is their best weapon, and they know it. Charbonnet can keep the chains moving, but Walker can take over games.

For sure, I would agree with a lot of that.

For those that follow Walker and the team closer do we know if this could be a season long issue? For example Kittle played through his oblique injury last year but wasn't quite as effective as he had been in the past. He eventually got offseason surgery and said he's feeling a lot better going into this year.

I'd love to try to buy some Walker shares at a discount if possible but curious what his ROS outlook is like.

Well, at least I can say I knew this is what I was signing up for drafting K9 and pulled the trigger anyway. Sucks to see it play out, but we move on. Hope he stays out as long as needed to come back and provide some meaningful juice to my squad for later stretches. Definitely do not want to see aggravations leading to donut days and/or further missed time. Get well, soon, and if not soon, so be it - most importantly, get well!

He's not playing Sunday, oblique injuries are nothing to play with. Core injuries don't seem to linger, he just needs to rest up.

If this was a playoffs game, he would be active. Similar to a broken rib situation, you probably shouldn't play but you could if you wanted to.

Why no IR if they expected him out that long?
Simple answer is that would put him out till week 6 and they think he'll be ready before then.

From what I've read/gathered good chance he can get back next week.
Teams also can only return 8 players from IR. Better not to burn a spot if he has a chance at being back earlier. Probably why Kupp isn't on IR, Rams are gonna need all 8.

That's true and I'd say most likely why Kupp is not IR but I don't think that's a driving reason why Walker is not on IR. It's a muscle injury, those can be a little more unpredictable, but I really think they simply don't expect him to not be ready by at least week 5.

I wish they would just list him as Out, so I can move him to IR for the weekend.
so he must be out on injury report to put him on IR? Just curious as none of my leagues have an IR spot.
in my leagues, a player has to be on NFL's IR to be on FF IR. "Out" is insufficient.
thank you, makes sense.

Yahoo allows IR, PUP and Out designations to be placed into IR spot. However, once the designation is changed to something lighter the following week, your roster is locked from making any transactions until you move the player out of the IR spot.

Macdonald said he’s optimistic he’ll be back next week. Which so happens to be a MNF so hope we can get some clarity before Sunday but encouraging none the less.
I'd think if he's remotely limited during the week that they ease him in and Charbonet will still get plenty of touches.

When you are rolling two different Mixon/Walker teams and forced to start total scrubs I'll take it for those teams.

But....

It was a necessity to draft Charbs if you drafted Walker.
I tried but not hard enough in all leagues. In my two dynasty teams I have Walker I traded for Charbs last year and it's great but in redraft was not able to always pair them.

I said this last year and will say it again. Walker>Charbs by a whole lot in terms of pure talent but for fantasy I'd rather have Charbs with Walker out then Walker with Charbs active and eating into his role a little. In other words on my Walker/Charb teams I consider it a plus when Walker is out, which is kind of messed up, but it's how it is.

The scenario kyoun describes above is the worst case scenario for the Walker/Charb combo teams.

Reports he wasn't out there for the early (stretching) part of practice today open to the media.

Buckle up for what might be another long week.

If he doesn't practice Thurs and limited Fri, I can't start him with a MNF game. Just asking for a GTD where he's out in warm ups with nothing on reserve.

In this case, no news isn't really good news. Think Walker sits again. Charbonet vs the Lions is a tough call.
I started Singletary last night instead and obviously regret it.

He practiced (limited) yesterday. That's their Wednesday as they play Monday. Its very rare a guy who practices on the 1st day of the week doesn't play, unless he aggravates the injury at practice, which there is no report of.

I think its very likely Walker is playing.

I agree, think he's most likely going to play and at this point in the leagues I don't have the combo I'm saving a spot for Walker in my lineup, I'm not saving a spot for Charbs.

Hmm, rather he sits so i don't have to worry about him and Charbs splitting more than usual with it being his first game back from injury. Plus the Lions are a very tough matchup.

100% this. No idea how much he plays and the Lions run d is no joke.

Gregg Bell
Kenneth Walker still on track to return from oblique injury and play for #Seahawks Monday night at Detroit.

Not so for LB Uchenna Nwosu, DE Leonard Williams, DT Byron Murphy.

RG Anthony Bradford back to full participation today
