RB Latavius Murray, BUF (1 Viewer)

Murray a big part of this win today. Did great in pass pro along with a great all around game. He's looking like a solid 3 down back who, if he stays healthy, should push for double digit TD.

This guy is delivering for those of us who waited on RBs. Two solid outings with the best yet to come. If he plays a full 16 could end up with low end RB1 production.

Who do you want as his handcuff? Taiwan Jones or Roy Helu? I have Helu but not sure he's the right guy to have.

Neither.
Oh, I want my starting RBs handcuff. 14 team deep league. I need my own RBs back up. I sure do.
Better get both then. I expect this to be an ugly rbbc with no ody producing fantasy value if Murray is out.

For FF purposes, I suggest you look for a different backup that at least picks up yards every week. KWilliams? JRobinson? DWilliams? Any of these on your league's wire?

He hasn't even started breaking the long ones yet. Don't forget the speed he possesses. He has made a lot out of nothing with his quickness where typical RBs would have loss yards.

Cle made Chris Ivory a hot name. There's a ton of upside here.

He's falling forward a lot after contact and getting another yard or two. I wonder how he grades out on PFF in that regard?

I hear what you're saying, but not every starting RB has a handcuff.

If you lost Latavius, you'd probably want to start someone else on your roster, or pick someone up that week, or swing a trade, before you'd want to start any of those Raiders RBs.

Def not Ingram but I've never been a believer. In dynasty Bell and Lacy. It's close with Charles and AP. They are better but both are pretty long in the tooth.

I'm heavily invested in Murray, owning him in all my leagues, but I'm cautiously optimistic. Keep in mind that he was held to under 20 yards early, and didn't really get into a flow until later in the game when they could try to hold on to a lead.

Looking ahead at the schedule, I don't see more than 2 or 3 games that are likely to have a similar gameflow to today's matchup. And if they are playing from behind, he may be more involved in the passing game, but he won't likely be facing a worn-down defensive front ready to bust off a 50-yarder.

I think we're looking at far more games that end up like Week 1 than those we see end up like Week 3. And I think Week 1 was respectable, especially in full PPR leagues, but I'm not ready to declare that I'll have a Top 7 back at the end of the year, yet, based on today's performance.

It's full speed ahead against Chicago next week, though. :)

Rotoworld:

Latavius Murray rushed 16 times for 49 yards and caught 3-of-5 targets for 12 yards Week 4 against the Bears.

Murray appeared to be benched late in the fourth quarter after fumbling a pitch. Murray also had a Derek Carr pass bounce right off his chest and into the arms of Pernell McPhee in the second quarter. Roy Helu finished out the game at running back. It was disappointing to see Murray benched, but there is little reason to believe he will not return as the workhorse next week. After four games, Murray is on pace for 272 carries for 1,188 yards and eight touchdowns as well as 56 receptions for 320 yards.

Yeah bad game for Latavius today. Helu has always worried me because he's not bad. Just got to hope he can shake that game off.

Are we sure he is still a top 10 back? I know it is one game but he made 2 big mental mistakes. He was a big reason why they lost the game.

Right now the perceived value of Murray is a lot higher than other 3 down backs like Yeldon, Martin and L. Miller. Are we sure he is going to perform that much better going forward?

Oak plays Denver then a bye, so NO right now.

If TOs are mental mistakes then Charles fumbled away a game a few weeks ago. It can even happen to top 10 RBs. Playing for Oakland, the mistakes will be magnified because they don't yet have the ability to make up for mistakes.

I don't think Murray's value is a lot higher than Yeldon, but it should be a little higher because both he and Oakland appear to be a year ahead in the rebuild process. I think most people believe Martin is in his last year with TB, so that's going to affect his value. Plus, he has had a couple of down years. It's tough to call Miller a 3 down, workhorse type back. In his 49 games, he has just one 20 carry game and only eleven 15 carry games.
