Yeah I don't disagree with a lot of that. I guess when I said the Del Rio comment I meant screwing it up for us owners not the team. Latavius seemed to wear down as the season went along........so if he's a little more efficient with his touches and he can get most of the GL work he should still be a decent RB2.......

But seriously, I have this guy in 4 leagues - I'm an admitted Raider homer - and don't know what to do with him.

I don't want to start him. I don't want to drop him. I can't get much for him in trade and don't want to sell for pennies on the dollar in case something changes and he becomes closer to the workhorse back he was last season.

He's been totally TD dependent. Take those TDs away and you have a low volume RB sharing with two other guys. Horrible.

I'm holding and hoping something changes. Or, hoping for some BS game where he gets 2 fluky TDs on low volume so I can sell high.

This week I'm debating benching him for D. Washington.

Murray was drafted in the 4th round for the most part in a tier of RBs that are certainly not getting 10-12 carries right now. Del Rio was indicating that "they have to give the ball more to Latavius" in the offseason.

This is not what I was expecting. If it was, I would have waited until round 7-8 for a guy like this.

This is a problem...even with the TDs. Not sure why everyone sees this as a glass half full. Feel like the glass is falling off the table and ready to hit the floor.

If available my suggestions would be: Dwayne Washington and Wendell Smallwood

A longer shot would be Kenneth Dixon but that is health-related as he is targeting week 5 and it'd be his first week back from an MCL injury

Fwiw: One of my dynasty teams is tanking so I sold Lat last week for a 2017 1st that I expect to be top 5.  

Timeshare concerns made me want to turn him into a dart throw next year instead, in what's supposed to be a strong rookie class.

I'm sitting him this weekend for Dwayne Washington, based largely on the matchup.  Latavius is playing good football, and 15 touches each of the first two weeks was solid, but I'm not feeling great about potentially only seeing 10-12 against a solid Baltimore run defense.

Most weeks, I think he's going to return good value.  He'll be right back in my lineup against the Chargers next week.  This game has the look of 40-60 yards and no scores, though.

This looks like the right call, IMHO. Murray has indeed looked solid this year, and running well. Been a solid option as RB2 on my squad so far. 

Difference is that he's splitting much more time with other backs (Washington, Richard, and even a sprinkle to Olawale) this year than last, so the games where Murray doesn't garner a TD this year will be more costly in terms of fantasy performance than last year, where he shouldered a larger number of carries.

The TDs are more meaningful where you aren't necessarily getting the yardage anymore, so in games where Murray faces stingy run Ds (BAL is a top 10 D against RBs this year, and have only given up 2 rush TDs to date) and the probability of a TD goes down, looking for other options may be wise.

I'm trotting him out this week in my 14 team league, FWIW, alongside Ingram and Ware, as my other bench options (like Duke Johnson) are thin.

Coach Jack Del Rio said the Raiders will continue to go with a hot-hand approach at running back.
Latavius Murray has started every game, but DeAndre Washington (6.5 YPC) and Jalen Richard (8.6 YPC) are going to remain involved. Murray has been better in fantasy than real life, scoring in all three games despite 32 total carries. He's due for regression in a tough Week 4 matchup at Baltimore.

murray owner and somewhat of an murray apologist at this point, but washington looked better running the ball than murray yesterday, except the fumble of course. that play where he fumbled, it was a delay run and i thought carr had a brain lapse just standing there with the ball for a second.

if not redraft then i'd say this is definitely the right move. for redraft, will be guessing week to week who will get the TD until washington gets the nod to start, which may be just a matter of time. that will still favor murray i think. i'm getting a brandon jacobs vibe here now but stuck with murray. jacobs i think may have had better value. luckily washington is no bradshaw, maybe a mini derrick ward. still looking for a silver lining here...

Seems to be a 3 way split with murray and washington getting most of the touches but washington has better ypc and rec stats.  Seems like you could start washington and get low end rb2 numbers like murray.  If those reports were true about them wanting to lean more on washington this could be the time to get him.  Both their numbers are gonna look good vs sd though

Really wish I had gone with Hill or Gordon rather than Murray this year. I give it one more week before I truely give up on him and move on. Maybe if its a good week I can salvage some value.

The Raiders backfield is fluid.  Washington looks to be the better back at the moment.  Murray looked better last year.  He has always gone down on first contact but now he goes down if someone even brushes him.  Things will be sorted out in a few weeks.

Upside will still be limited as the Raiders will look to throw in Washington on 3rd/passing downs, Richard as COP, and Olawale for short yardage, but I think Murray will still see the majority of carries in this offense, and as such, he's starting for me going forward.

His first TD was a short yard (~2) gain through the left side of the line -- on that same drive, it was really a 29 yard catch and run by Horton that put them in good field position. Murray had gains of 10, 6, 1 on the same drive. They also gave the ball to Washington once (1 yard gain) and Olawale twice (6 and 3 yard gains) -- the second run was given to him on a 1st and 5 on the JAX 5, but they went right back to Murray on second down on the 2, and he punched it in. 

The second TD was more impressive, a 9 yard scamper late in the 4th quarter. It was King's muffed punt snap and subsequent 27 yard run to the JAX 25 that put the Raiders in posession, but again, Murray was used heavily in the drive with runs of 2, 1, 4, and 4 before bursting through the middle of the line and shedding tackles on his way to the EZ. No other back was used in that drive.

I think Washington is a quality back who is a threat on the ground and through the air. He and Richard have burst/breakaway speed that Murray does not, so I think they will still be used. But I think Murray still retains his slot as the de facto lead back, and his performance last week only helps.

If toe, then this is concerning after two great showings since that's the injury that kept him out earlier in the year. Cooper also on the "limited participation" list with Murray.

My thinking too, and while I hope it's right I suspect that the injuries on CAR D actually benefits the pass catching backs like Richard and Washington more than Latavius.
