RB Omarion Hampton, LAC (2 Viewers)

NFL Draft Files
UNC RB Omarion Hampton has great vision and elusiveness in the hole with strong legs that keep moving through contact.

One of the best RBs in an absolutely stacked 2025 class.

Don't let #UNC's struggles distract you from the fact that Omarion Hampton is having an ELITE season...

- 658 rushing yards (1st ACC, 3rd nationally)
- 765 all-purpose yards (1st ACC, 3rd nationally)
- 2nd nationally in yards after contact (PFF)
- 6 TDs (T3 ACC, T19 nationally)

Jacob Infante
Everyone shows Ashton Jeanty love, and rightfully so.

But Omarion Hampton is a stud and a top-50 player in this draft. Vision, agility, contact balance, elite in pass pro. He’s a legit future starting RB.

Interested to see how high Omarion Hampton goes in the 2025 NFL Draft. 2nd round? 3rd round?

Also, wonder what his NFL career will be like. Prototypical qualities the NFL seeks in a bell-cow RB, without the extreme high-level explosiveness.

The power, vision, burst all there.

2nd round seems like a given at this point.

I think he’s good enough to go back of the 1st.

#UNC RB Omarion Hampton vs. Wake

35 carries for 244 yards (career-high) and his only TD came on this hurdle. He now has 100+ rushing yards in 8 straight games.

There’s not much flash or flare to his game. Hampton is an old school, north-south runner that just gets the job done.

If it wasn’t for a remarkable season from Jeanty, he’d be getting talked about more.

248-1,422-14 TDs this year.

Currently my RB2.

Omarion Hampton is yet another reason why you don’t need to draft a RB inside the damn Top-15 (Yes Even Ashton Jeanty)

6’1” 220+ with hands and wheels. Hampton is a certified stud. David Johnson 2.0 in the making. #NFLDraft

#UNC RB Omarion Hampton is declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft, he announced. He finished second in the FBS in rushing yards (1,660) and yards after first contact (1,026) to go along with 15 TDs.

Hampton surpassed 100 rushing yards in 10 of his 12 games played this season. RB2 on my board.

Omarion Hampton (#UNC RB) reminds me a lot of Josh Jacobs.

Doesn’t have elite breakaway speed, but is a no nonsense runner who is tough as hell to tackle.

I like the fit with the Chargers. Don’t mind having to watch some Drake Maye college film again either 🤷‍♂️

@FFSnoog
He doesn't have the elusiveness like Josh Jacobs to me.

More a James Conner/Zach Charbonnet mold in my opinion.

@scoutdnfl
I don’t mind that either at all. Good comps. You’re right - probably not the same level of elusiveness as a Jacobs type prospect, who was considered elite at the time.

Definitely love the similar contact balance and power though. Coaches rave about him too

Workhorse potential

Raiders at the top of round 2 would be an excellent fit. He looks like the rare 3-down RB, who probably should be a 1st rounder, but might make it to round 2 just because of positional value.

Omarion Hampton reminds me so much of Josh Jacobs

Omarion Hampton was doing it all against Virginia. I did not expect him to be as effective in the passing game as he is.

NFL Draft Files
Omarion Hampton would be touted as an elite RB1 prospect in any other year.

Contact balance, burst, vision, hands. Reminds me of All-Pro David Johnson.

@FFSnoog
Omarion Hampton's production/stats are very good, but the amount of NFL traits I see on his film aren't like the Ohio State RBs/Kaleb Johnson/Ashton Jeanty.

Doesn't have great burst, lacks lateral ability, vision is subpar, and overall he doesn't have any "elite" traits in my eyes.

His best traits are power through contact and picking up short yardage. He's not easy to tackle. Always falling forward.

Good, well rounded player though. NFL comparisons are Zach Charbonnet +, pre-injury Javonte Wiliams. or James Conner.

Omarion Hampton Ranked in the 97th Percentile in Yards After Contact Per Attempt (4.3)

➖Age: 21 (Early Declare)
➖Size: 6’0, 220 lbs

Hampton’s Averages over the last 2 Seasons:

➖24 Touches Per Game
➖150.4 Yards Per Game
➖1.32 TD’s Per Game

Future Workhorse RB1 in the NFL

“You are going to start hearing a lot more about Omarion Hampton. He’s going to be at the Combine around 225, he’s going to run in the mid 4.4s and he’s going to have about 6% body
fat” - Daniel Jeremiah

NFL Draft Files
Omarion Hampton is next in line for a long list of elite power backs…

Think Josh Jacobs, Deuce McAllister, all-pro David Johnson, Nick Chubb, etc.

Elite contact balance, falls forward for extra yards, explosive linear athlete.

RB2 and top 30 player.

Reel Analytics
Omarion Hampton appeared on our CFB’s Fastest Players List 3 times in 2024, clocking 21+ mph 2 out of the 3 times.

With a projected 4.42-4.44 (per our tracking data) and a 98.2 In-Game Athleticism® Score, Hampton’s traits are worthy of RB1 #IGAScore

@scoutdnfl
Omarion Hampton is an absolute workhorse.

➖ 6’0/220lbs | 21 Years Old
➖ 1222 Yards After Contact (#2 in FBS)
➖ 73 Missed Tackles Forced
➖ Good Pass-Catcher, Vision, Instincts

He’s going to be a damn good football player. Some Josh Jacobs/Nick Chubb to his game…

he's very much in play for me at 1.03, nevermind "first rounder"
I think he's talking "NFL draft first rounder". Mixon was a dynasty first rounder. But would have been an NFL first rounder without off the field issues.
Mixon went 1.03 in my dynasty league in 2017 after Fournette and Cook. I have 1.02 in the upcoming draft, if I had to pick tomorrow I'd likely be taking Hampton assuming Jeanty goes 1st.

I would be as well.

He is my clear number two prior to the draft. Landing spots will shake things up a bit, but as of right now he is firmly 1.02 for me.

According to our local radio guys, Kiper had Hampton going to Dallas in the 1st round in his latest mock (Jeanty went to Raiders earlier). The local guys were saying that Kiper relayed that there were a few teams that had Hampton over Jeanty and a few more that had them even.

When SF3 gives his scouting opinions, I'm still amazed some folks don't listen

In a league where WR reign supreme, we only start 1-2 RBs and I have Bijan and Bucky, I’m still strongly considering him at the 4.

I was really bummed to land the #2 rookie pick and missing out on Jeanty - figured id have no choice but to go with Tet - the more I watch this kid tho the more I like - he may also go a bit later than Jeanty to a more stable team with upside.

Agreed. I'm starting to scheme how much it's going to cost to move up to 1.2 from 1.12 to grab him.
