RB Omarion Hampton, LAC (19 Viewers)

The fact he can do exercise is good. Now he needs to build up to "limited" participation, maybe by Week 11 or so. He'll probably work out on the side all next week to see if he can get through b2b days...

tough season for the rook...and those that drafted him. I figured 4 weeks tops.....
Also may hurt his dynasty value if he doesn’t show out if/when he does return, as Harbaugh may remain committed to an RBBC with another solid RB alongside him.
Thats great if so, with Slater and Alt back next year, he's gonna be a beast
He very well may be, the question is whether he’ll have significant company in the backfield with him.

I seriously doubt it. I wouldn't characterize Vidal or Haskins as "significant company," and I would be fairly shocked if they drafted another RB. Could they re-sign Najee? I suppose, but only if he comes a lot cheaper than last year. But I wouldn't do that if I were them. Vidal can be a "good enough" RB2, and they badly need to put their resources into OL, IDL, and Edge.

Not thinking of any of those guys but there are always solid FA options that might not get paid and wind up forming a committee (e.g., Allgier types)

This is true. There is always a guy like this half the dynasty community waits 4 years to go "He's finally getting a shot"

And the other half goes "This guy is gonna KILL this new RBs value"

And the world turns

I could see THIS EXACT scenario playing out like this

Dobbins is on a one year deal and I'd assume he is gone. Harbaugh likes to run. I would not be surprised if they took a rb round 3 or 4. Vidal on rookie deal becomes 3rd rb.

You know Dobbins plays for Denver, right? I don't think he has anything to do with this conversation...

As things stand, the Chargers only have 5 picks in the 2026 draft. I will be very unhappy if they use one of those picks on a RB. That would be a luxury they don't have. They probably need at least 5 new OL next season, including 2-4 starters, depending on Slater's health and whether or not they re-sign Zion Johnson. Meanwhile, they have only 2 IDL under contract for next season, and their top 2 Edge players are UFAs. 95% of their issues this season have to do with the two lines. Not RB or any other offensive skill positions.

Though to be fair, Dobbins is also on a 1-year deal, and has history playing well for LA.

Sure, but the Chargers made him an offer last offseason and he rejected it. To say there is "bad blood" there would be overstating it, but there was an issue at some level. I don't see him coming back to LA, especially after he had an issue staying healthy again.

Omarion Hampton agility drills in practice

Probably will sit this week and be activated for Week 14.
Does that come from you or someone else's opinion?
My opinion because he just was activated and usually you have to at LEAST get one Full practice in. Also, they face the Raiders this week; I don't think they'll really need him for the Raiders...

However, if he does a Limited today and a Full practice Friday? Sure, he could play IMHO.

The Chargers did lose to the Giants, Commanders at home and were routed by the Jags so nothing is guaranteed.

Was about to say something similar, they got embarrassed by JAX the game before the Bye. 6 other teams in the AFC in the mix for the playoffs with them and after the Raiders they still have to play Philly, @KC, @dallas, Houston, @Den. They can't take anything for granted

Chargers RB Omarion Hampton (ankle) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

The Chargers designated Hampton to return from injured reserve this week and he starts out practicing in a limited capacity. Hampton said he was dealing with a fractured left ankle and is waiting for doctors to clear him. Kimani Vidal has been the lead back in the meantime and the Chargers get a plus matchup against the Raiders in Week 13. It will be difficult to keep Hampton on fantasy benches if he is indeed activated for Sunday.

Wait what? Dude didn't sprain his ankle, he actually had a non-operative ankle fracture?

I've seen estimates for ankle fractures range from 4-8, 6-10, and 6-12 weeks with some people saying you don't fully heal for 12-16 weeks (3-4 months). Next week for Hampton will be Week 8.

Thanks so much for your insight. I grabbed Vidal immediately off of waivers.

oh boy. You know what I had a guy interested in Jeanty and almost thought of Hampton and how good he looked but then watching Luvu clip his ankle on purpose I thought, "that isn't sprained and LA is going to get Frankie's number and I don't know what's going to happen to the kid." I offered Jeanty, Harrison, and Tracy for Jahmyr instead. He took it. I was showing my brother's girlfriend's son who loves the Chargers the clip of the injury. Crap play, Frankie. Enjoy the difficulty in getting your next K. And I used to love Frankie. Won me an IDP title from the wire in Carolina, but . . . garbage play reflects lousy on his character.

Luvu.

The dirtiest there is, the dirtiest there was, the dirtiest there ever will be.

Chargers RB Omarion Hampton (ankle) was limited in Thursday’s practice.

The nature of Hampton’s injury and the fact he has yet to return to a full practice decrease his chances of returning in Week 13 against the Raiders, likely needing a full session before being cleared by team doctors. The Chargers could be looking at another week with Kimani Vidal as the clear lead back.

Chargers RB Omarion Hampton (ankle/IR) will not play in Los Angeles’ Week 13 game against the Raiders.

More concerning yet, Hampton was spotted in a yellow non-contact jersey on Friday after not wearing one for either of the last two days. Perhaps it was just the Chargers being cautious with someone they knew they weren’t going to play on Sunday, but it’s also possible that he was further injured or had a setback in practice — Jim Harbaugh said “he looked good” and that everything is on track for the return, but wouldn’t say when the return would be. Kimani Vidal will tote the load for the Chargers against the Raiders and be a top-20 play.

Man. This guy has been tough to stick with. And I went to unc and love him but jeeze! Anyone dropping if something doesn’t change soon?
Trey Benson owners says hello. Both have been brutal roster cloggers, but I just don't see how you drop either.
Jayden Daniels. Terry McLaurin.

Why would you hang unto him this long only to drop him the week before his return.

Patience

The injury was much more serious than anyone knew for a long time. There used to be a time when we got good reporting. At the time he went down we were led to believe this was a 4 week injury. With how much info is out there in the world is hard to believe we can't get accurate info at the time of things happening. It was like 4 weeks later we found out he wouldn't be back after 4 weeks.
